I have a DC adapter for my old machine that is 20+ years old that plugs into the cigarette lighter. I used it for camping at the races. I have another machine that I use at home that does not accept an adapter. I am getting a new machine that I will take with me when I am assigned a truck in a few weeks after Phase 2 and will get an adapter for the new machine. To answer your question, from the research that I have done, it seems that DC adapters are not universal. I have not verified that, but most manufactures sell their own adapter for their machine which normally runs $80 - $100+. Check with your medical supply dealer and I am sure they will hook you up properly.

Do the trucks have an electrical outllet in the sleeper where I can plug in my tv and cpap or do I need to buy a low amp inverter to plug into the cig lighter slot. Als o can someone tell me how much it cost to get an inverter put in by roehl and can you use it all night.

Low watt inverter is needed. No outlets. It costs you $380 to get the one installed by roehl. It's 1200w and only runs 2 hours then needs a 8 hour reset.

Or, you could get really lucky and get assigned a truck that has one installed already, like I did. I'm don't know how, I only assume it was a recovered truck. Basically new too. Only 26k miles on it.

Go to WalMart and buy a 400W inverter. It is cheaper than the 400W ones at the truckstops. I have one of these and it powers my CPAP with no problem, as well as runs a full size crockpot, fan, laptop, cell charger etc...
I have an APU and a full size inverter, but I turn it off at night to allow it to cool down, and just use the small 400w at night for my CPAP.
A 400w or smaller will plug into the 12v outlets, but anything above 400w will have to be hardwired to the battery system and ROEHL does not allow you to do that unless it is their inverters.

    Big Will Thanks this.

Use only.....ONLY......a sine-wave inverter if possible. In my case, Crete installed one for me, no charge. It's not connected to the rest of the battery system so it will keep running if the regular batteries become discharged or just get below a certain voltage level.

You can use a cheapie inverter in a pinch, but after 6 1/2 years of using CPAP in a truck, I wouldn't recommend the cheap route.
