All 3 are pretty good companies.
Schneider is good if you want dedicated accounts.
TMC would be good for long haul.

    Also look at:
    NFI
    UPS Freight
    Bay & Bay Transportation
    United Van Lines
    Melton Truck Lines
Pride Transport (on produce loads, $30.00 for each stop plus $15.00 hr. detention pay)

There's other companies; much depends on if you want coast-to-coast or regional or Eastern half of USA. Most new drivers want to see the country.

Ignore "experience required" and apply to any company you like. Many companies bend their own hiring rules when they read an application and the applicant seems good.

Roehl is a solid beginner company. You'll be trained well and run lots of miles as they have a tremendous amount of east coast freight. Given where you live, you're a great fit at Roehl. You're just what they're looking for.

Get your year in and start looking into all the opportunities that year's experience just afforded you. Roehl's pay plan is geared towards new drivers. After 4+ years at the company I was nearly maxed out on cpm. Couple that with the many anti veteran driver moves Roehl has made these last three years and I felt forced out. The Roehl Transport I quit was not the same company I hired in with. They have gone the way of Swift, Covenant and other bottom feeders. Soon their CSA scores will reflect that. They want to run the company with new, unproven drivers!

    So be it!

You won't regret starting out with Roehl. You WILL regret it if you stay with any of the starter companies you mentioned IF IF IF you have safe record and good performance. After a year every mile you drive for a starter company is costing you money/cpm that you could make somewhere else!

    Go for it!

As someone posted earlier ROEHL is a great starter company. In fact, I say it is heads and shoulders above any other starter company out there.
After you get a year of more experience, then yes, you may very well find a company that fits you better than ROEHL. That is where ROEHL losses most of their drivers. Not because those drivers feel ROEHL is a bad company, but because that local company they wanted to drive for that gets them home every night requires 1 or more years experience to get hired. Or that specialty oversize hauler company they want to drive for requires 1 or more years of over the road flatbed experience etc...
As for myself, I have been with ROEHL for over 6 years and been training for the last 5plus years, and plan on staying here until retirement.
Great thing about ROEHL is their pay plan. It rewards good driving and not just time of service. So as someone posted earlier,if you are a good, dependable driver, you can be on top of the pay chart fairly quickly.

Hi there.....seems like you can use any and all info available. We all have been in your place at one time or another. We lucked out and started with Schneider National as a company driver, we then we moved over to the IC Choice program. Wish we had started there!!!! We love it!!!!! If you would like to chat to my hubby, he would be more than happy to give you the info from the inside...

As a new driver you shouldn't really be chasing money right off the bat as you will be disappointed. Rather look for the company that will be most lenient and helpful in your transition as new driver. A lot of people will suggest the bigger carriers but they are a hit and miss in terms of helping you adjust as a new driver. I started my career with Schneider National back in 04 and it was nice but man I was one of the lucky few to make it out alive as these guys will give you loads into busy LA tight streets right out of school without thinking twice about it.

I think you should go with Schneider National but swallow your pride for a few months and ask them to set you up with a team driver. Trust me it is just temporary pain but it will help you a lot in the long run. Rest is up to you..
