Just because I don't agree with something, doesn't mean I think I'm better than anyone else. Why should I sit back and let some disgruntled past employees pick off new drivers in here asking questions about the company? Don't you think it's fair they hear it from both sides?

You might look in the mirror once Bayle. Have seen you be condescending to people several times. C'mon on man.. Why are all the ex-employees ganging up? Thought you guys were all happier? Good grief..

Right, try looking at the context.

Oh, I'm very condescending, sarcastic, stand offish, or whatever else, I've also helped plenty as well.
Im very happy with where I'm at. I still say Roehl is about as good as you can get to start your career, but new drivers should hear everything, not just all the rainbow and lollipops bs. Overall they did good by me, but over time, the little things turn into big irritations. Even a little thing like the notebook deal. Fine I agree it's not big, but over time those little things start to add up.
As people may say, it's just a drop in the bucket, but enough drops eventually fill that bucket.

You can't blame Scott, like the rest of the "trainers" with a few months experience Roehl corrals the sheep and brain washes them. Notice they all give the same "do what your told, be nice to your fm, ect. ect." speech. I've always taken the approach of I am the truck driver, You give me the loads and leave me alone, I will do the rest. Ive gotten along with some of my FM's and not with others. Current FM and I have had some heated conversations, but he understands that I will get the job done (my way). If you don't stand up for yourself (for whats right and legal) they will run you into the herd.

IMHO Roehl is the best of the worst. (The best of the "mega/starter" fleets)

    Bayle Thanks this.

I'm just taking a year off to do some non-trucking things, then plan to re-apply. Roehl was good to me (except in one instance, at the time I left, and it was nothing my fleet managers could have any control over). And, I defended you on this thread earlier. :)

I don't think it's you specifically. There is a general rule in the industry that one should have at least two or three years' experience before they are wise enough to train others out on the road. Yeah, there are exceptions, but among "veterans" that's the general rule.

So, be prepared to take some flak; it's not all personal.

Roehl is a good company based on the year I was there. Hopefully it will still be a good company when I re-apply next spring. No company is perfect, and anyone who acts as if they work for a perfect company is bound to attract flak from those who have been around long enough to know that no company is perfect. Yeah, ######## and complaining all the time is unproductive, but ironically, so is singing praises all the time. The only way that legitimate issues can get addressed and fixed is if they are brought up and discussed.

    Have a good one!

Roehl is a decent company. Just not all peaches and sunshine as you might want to make it out to be. I understand trainers are suppose to say nothing bad about the company. But you take it over board.

    Bayle and Projektf350 Thank this.

All I do is report my own experiences. Never meant to sound like Roehl is perfect, hell they've pissed me off many times, but it's not all doom and gloom either. Some people take that overboard. Oh well, done discussing this. Actually feels like a good time to take a break from here. Take care all..
