On day 3 without the trainer, so far so good...moving slow , triple checking everything.Had a crazy dock to back into in Bristol,WI with a tiny lot , boulders lining the whole lot, and a blindside back into an enclosed dock with trailers on both sides. Every tough spot is a learning situation, however stressful. Still having trouble backing into truck stop spots, its painfully clear to others that I'm newly released onto the road taking awhile to back in. The best part so far has been meeting a ton of drivers, hearing stories, and seeing my shifting improving
just started driving solo

Just remember to GET OUT AND LOOK. Turn off the CB, dont listen to anyone, if someone offers to assist you in backing in, dont rely on them. Get out and Look, its your ### on the line, not theirs.
In the end, Glad its working out for you.Puppage, goblue and Nightwind8830 Thank this. -
I have multiple stops daily because im regional and some have been backing around objects into docks built by someone with a cruel sense of humor, GOAL has been a great help. Ive had some stuff happen like I was sliding my tandems after scaling the load yesterday, someone offered to get in my truck to do it for me. I didn't need help it was just weird

I'll give you the best advice that was given to me, use as much space as you have and don't be afraid to do pull ups, and of course GOAL. Good luck.

I've seen 13 states in 14 day.I saw Virginia at 5am from up on a mountain, drove along the bay in Norfolk and saw huge military ships, saw the Mexican border near Laredo, gotten stopped at border patrol checkpoint, drove through the smokies at sunrise , even seen a truck back up an expressway on ramp while traffic was trying to enter the expressway..and beautiful landscapes in almost every state..The office was just a fancy kennel, as far as I'm concerned. Sitting in a windowless room answering phones..there's no comparison!!
Idennisroc, Chinatown and Wild Murphy Thank this. -
I guess that is why I want to drive soon. Don't like being in the same place too long. Enjoy the trip !!!
Nightwind8830 Thanks this.
