I'm from Tennessee; born & raised there. Used to deliver to grocery stores in Athens and the Southeast.
Couple of years ago moved my domicile to Las Vegas/Henderson; nice house 10 minutes from the strip. No more snow & ice.

I did the Tucson/Death Valley/Reno for a while. Really liked the Biggest Littlest City. If i still lived out that way I'd try for Systems Transport. Got a friend thats been there for 8 years or so now, and absolutely loves it. You still with Roehl or are you driving for someone else?

I've never driven for Roehl. Last company I drove for was Tankstar; horrible company but the money was good, so I stuck it out & avoided the office.

You live probably the BEST area for flatbed!!!! No need to run southwest and be gone for weeks or months at a time and make that little bit of $.......

Im sure there are PLENTY of flatbed companies that can get you home on a regular basis.

On a side note: Do people really take the "cant go home I have too much freight to run" excuse?????

I laughed at her. I got to see my dad in VA for Christmas and she called me Christmas day and told me i had to be back at my truck the next day because of all these crazy loads, i told her bull, but was tired of sleeping on the couch. i picked up some drywall out of emporia headed to kentucky. got to kentucky and delivered just north of franklin on 65. went back to that pilot on exit 2, and then sat for 6 days waiting on a load. you know, the 'too much freight' she had. I was only about 5 hours or so away from home, but they wouldn't let me deadhead because no freight out of alabama...

so i get some stuff out of felker bro's in Glasgow, take it to Gary yard, get a relay from independence tube in il, to take to the independence tube in Decatur al. so i couldn't spend new years with the fiance, but a couple days later i'm back at home? She was a worthless. Once she told me i was out of route "400%" of the time. how the hell does that make sense? she chewed my ### about it for a couple qualcomm messages and then called me and argued with me. she then later said i guess it was 4%, which isn't bad....

Two years away from RhEola is a long time. Have you even called about getting back on with them?

Write and send by snail mail a letter to the CEO of Roehl and explain, ask to be considered for re-hire.

Drivers make mistakes. The best drivers learn from them. You exhibit that quality.

I have not called them yet. Was trying to get a take on the peoples perspective of the situation. Also curious if anyone had been in a similar situation and what they had experienced so I might be able to take a proper course of action. Thinking i might Email my old recruiter. We got along AMAZING. She offered to take me out to lunch if I was ever in Marshfield.

I really thank you for your compliment. I'm only 24, 22 at the time i worked for Roehl, and i can be stubborn, ask the wife. I recognize that there was probably a better way to handle the situation. When it all was happening it was kind of a scary time with her in and out of the doctors every day getting tests done to see if anything was cancerous. I should've called Bill Thomas and talked to him.

I have thought of doing that. I still think i might. I feel like I'd blabber on like i am doing in these forums.

Sounds like what you went thru with your FM is very typical so why does Roehl stand out from other companies? There are many flatbed companies that I bet if given the chance that next company would also be your dream job.I would say what you did was abandonment since they sent someone to retrieve your trk.But if Rohel says you're under review before rehire so maybe your FM lied about bol getting lost and why she got terminated. What I would do right now is call safety they're the ones you need to go thru about getting rehired.
