I did not mention I am a new driver 2 months out of school.
Is the Prime routes for newbies?

Driver I hate to break it to ya but there's drivers with a decade experience that envy your schedule. (Assuming you're making money.) You'll get used to it, somewhat. Keep you nose down and clean for at least a year.

OP (TNVOL) Two things I see here FM (dispatcher) has somethings to do with home time. Of course if you and them don't see eye to eye you can ask for a different FM. You are so new. What you describe is not right but we have rough times 2 months of bad dispatches happens. Now. Roehl goes by hours. So 10 days out. 48 hours off.. 11days out 72 hours off. Also for best average miles per week stay out 21days.

I'd stay out 3 weeks and get a week home. -
When I drove as a company driver at Roehl several years back they tried one time to start my hometime hours when I finished delivering a load. Didn't matter that I was 6 hrs from home down in San Antonio, Texas. I said "no way" and still got my full 3 days off. That is probably what they are trying to do again. Cut back on actual time spent home going by hours instead of days. That way they get you back to work sooner than a full 2, 3 or 4 days starting the day after you finish work. No more "Be Home more...Take home more".
DrtyDiesel Thanks this. -
If you have 10 years experience driving and can't get a good schedule then they must not be very good at driving or have never heard of job searches or the Internet. Rough

I may not be the best to answer this then. I was getting my answer from the Driver Reference Guide (DRG). I usually do 3 weeks out and 4-5 full days at home and never have a problem.

Roehl figures home time two ways, if you get home before 5:00 home time starts then, if it's 48 or 72 hours the time starts whenever you log off Qualcomm, if it's after 5:00 the time starts the next morning.

Been with Roehl for five years. My home time has never started on the day I got home. Doesn't matter if I parked the truck at 7am or 7pm. It always starts the next day. So if I got home on a Sunday and was due five days off my home time will start on Monday and I'll return to work on Saturday.
YoungGuns and DrtyDiesel Thank this.
