I just started school January 12 in SC, if it's anything like my class we needed a good fine point pen for doing log books. We also needed a notebook for notes and a clipboard to be able to write in your log book without holding it over your knee and making it look messy. The rest of what we needed was provided by the school. Oh yeah work gloves for the pre trip(hands on).

Hope this is helpful & best of luck!

Bring cold weather gear. Weather seems to be on a roller coaster right now. Get in the 20's during the day one day then back down into the teens and lower digits for another 1-2 days. Sun glasses. There is snow on the ground. Can produce glare. Shower shoes. Some places you shower in out on the road can not be to the best of standards. You do occasionally have to grab a shower in a smaller truckstop/independent that the showers are not as nice as FlyJ/Pilot or TA/Petro showers are. I'm sure they gave you a list. Also use the search here on TR. There have been numerous lists developed. You're not the first to ask what to bring.
