A little about me 30 been with my current employer 8 years now. And I'm greatful for the job, especially since they were the first real company to give me a chance after paying my debt to society for being young and dumb when i was 20. But $16.00hr in Baltimore dosent cut it when you have a wife and kids. So I decided to get my CDL's the program was 6 months, with 10 weeks in class room covering the CDL manual to get you permit and endorsements, Log Books, Trip planing, Maps, the whole 9 yards, then like 14 weeks on the range drivng and skills. I got pre-hires from Maverick, Werner, US Express, a few others. I decided on Roehl becasue of the Apprenticeship Program for military and its 2 years, other companies were 6-12months. And I figure the extra income would help while starting off at low pay getting experience under my belt the 1st year or two. I start March 2, 2015 and cant wait to begin the journey. I will be running Kraft dedicated NorthEast 35cpm out 5 days home 2 and its all in writing. Even guaranteed me days off for Cruise I had booked in April for my wifes birthday, that was paid for before I thought about getting my CDL's. They even put that in writing as well so there's to be no issue, they just asked that I stay out longer after Im finish with my trainer, to make up for time truck will be sitting. So I'm happy with the decision to join Roehl. Counting down days to fly to Wisconsin,
Will keep this Thread up to date on my journey.
