Once again. Still don't see a problem. You all need to learn discipline and structure. Too many of these drivers with this entitlement mentality out here. Too many with no discipline. Trust me, if I ran a company and I brought on new drivers, I would have a contract/ program similar to this.

Sorry didn't see the last few posts prior to responding. Still say this is crazy. -
$3130.00 is a rather odd number. It sounds like the sum of several numbers. If that is so, is there a breakdown of the several numbers and what their values represent as part of that total? Is it on their website so a person can read and understand it for themselves?
hal380 Thanks this. -
When I worked for roehl I had no problem getting the miles on flatbed side since I'd haul whatever they needed me to haul.
I'm with Joseph, I don't see a problem with this. I saw many guys and gals go work for roehl in the year I was there and they left only months in for whatever reason.
I liked my time there since their home time couldn't be beat by many companies. I'd stay out 3 weeks and take 8 days home. I loved it.
Although if I ever go back otr, I'd go back to lonestarlucasheart Thanks this. -
Nothing less than a "ball and chain" around a person's ankle. Talk about "slavery". Anyone who signs such agreement is desperate for a job. There are far too many jobs out there than to sign an agreement that will basically enslave you for 75,000 miles. I would hate to think the caliber of driver who would even consider such a "deal".

I understand the cost of training new people to see them leave shortly thereafter as that happens where I work quite often but to put a contract out makes a person wonder if they're trying to make money moving freight or training students. Roehl has excellent home time options but that seems about it. I'd plan on staying somewhere I started but if the company truly sucks, or the jobs not for you, a medical or family issue comes up etc. you're on the hook for OJT and possibly the cost of the school there as well. I've heard good things about the school but not so much on driving for Roehl anymore. Every company has cheerleaders though.
To be fair about it ask to see the contract for the load planners/dispatchers that they signed where they must provide every driver 2500 miles minimum a week safely and legally. If they fall short they lose part of their pay that week. I bet that doesn't exist though.
I'm not 100% sure but Millis may have this same type of thing.
