Could someone kindly detail out the My/Your pay program at Roehl? Everyone I ask a recruiter I get the world's vaguest answers.

    Thank you!:biggrin_2556:

You may want to contact their payroll department.

I would certainly like that. I couldn't find the www.thetruckerspayrollclerkreport.com, so I figured I wing it and see if there was someone actually getting paid using this system that could provide a bit of detail.

But seriously, all I can figure out is its a 1/4ly evaluation system that has a bunch of factors in it; and out pops your next 1/4s pay. Being on-time factors in it; but I don't know how that's handled; especially if its a fault/no-fault policy. It also seems to top out at certain levels; but I don't know those; and I don't know if everyone can earn top rate; or its a zero-sum game (only a certain % win).

So if anyone can help, substansively, it would be greatly appreciated.

    I bet it's $167.00 a week after they take everything out! 4 checks a month, $668.00. There's your answer!

it appears to be based off of productivity, roadside inspections,on time service, preventable costs, mpg, and your credentials hazmat, passport etc and looks like they do it on a quarterly basis.
they don't really give any decent explanation that i can find on how they come up with their scores.

to be honest i never looked at it till i read this post its in the driver toolkit section "scorecard" on their site

small update i talked too a couple of their experienced drivers one with 14yrs with roehl and neither like the mypay/scorecard thing.
they said that after they started this drivers started too leave for different companies and that's how roehl ended up being 85% new drivers and 15% experienced drivers

It's hard to like a pay plan that it based on thing that are not always in your control. For example..you show up at your appointment time according to your dispatch, only to be told by the shipper/receiver that your late....that's a service fail and your pay will reflect that. If you don't run the minimum amount of miles for the quarter (bunch of short loads, freight drops off..ect), your productivity is down and it reflects on your pay.

In my year with Roehl, I never, ever had that happen. It was a service failure only if you didn't make the ETA that you and your fleet manager had previously agreed to, for reasons that were clearly within your control. If the shipper/receiver tells you that you were late but in fact you were there at the time you and your fleet manager had agreed to, that's an issue for Roehl's customer service department to handle, not your problem. I sometimes had to make adjustments to my ETAs based on weather, traffic conditions, and so forth. As long as that was communicated to my FM, there was never a problem. The FM would update the ETA in his system and customer service would notify the shipper or consignee as needed. And actually, the FM's board will continuously calculate your projected ETA based on your real-time location and hours of service status, so often they will have a pretty good idea of your ETA even before you let them know.

You score is compared with other drivers in your fleet who run similar loads and operating conditions. If you're getting short loads, likely so is everyone else. Same if freight drops off. It's only if your score falls in comparison to other drivers in your fleet that your pay rate would be affected. (Likewise, if freight picks up for everyone, that alone wouldn't cause an increase in your pay rate either, it works both ways. Obviously, if freight picks up you may well earn more money because you'd be getting more miles even while at the same rate per mile.)
