I am a flatbedder running National. When I finished my EVO III, I was going out for 5.5 days and home 1.5 days (usually the weekends). I just recently went to 11/3 and like that much better. I always get the full 3 days off since I started the 11/3 program.

I take both tractor/trailer home and park them at a friend's construction yard, which is secure. When I was home weekly, I averaged about 9,100 miles per month. Now it's a little closer to 10,000 per month since I can go out on longer hauls.

I also have a 400 watt inverter which runs my TV/DVD player. I am seriously considering adding a 1000 watt inverter, but the Marshfield terminal is the only place you can get it installed, and they charge you $150 to put it in. When (if) you change trucks, they will charge you $95 to transfer it from truck to truck. I'll admit that $150 is really expensive, but inverters can destroy a wiring system if not installed properly, so I guess it's a bargain in the long run.

I did my Evo I and Evo II without taking a break in between. It made sense to me to just get it all done at once, and I'm glad that I did. After Evo II, I stayed in the Gary, IN terminal to attend my 3 day Cargo Securement Training. After Securement training, I took my tractor/trailer home with my first load, and had 3 days off before it was scheduled to be delivered.

Good luck in Marshfield. It's a cool town and it is very welcoming to the students. All those Roehl Training trucks running around the city streets are just part of the landscape, and residents don't even notice them anymore.

HEY BUDDY I LIVE IN PORT HURON AND IM THINKING OF GOING WITH ROEHL, SO YOU GET GOOD HOMETIME HOW MUCH DO YOU TAKE HOME ON AVERAGE FOR A WEEK?? DO YOU GET STUCK WAITING FOR FREIGHT OR END UP AT SOME CONSTRUCTION MUDHOLE SITE TO UNLOAD. IF THERE HAVE A REFERAL PROGRAM MAYBE YOU CAN HOOK ME UP.

Roehl Refrigerated Is A Joke

Started to work with this outfit in April,I have only driven 20,000 miles in three months. They have missed everyone of my hometimes,I have had 4 different fleet managers, and if you enjoy sitting around truckstops, running anal retentively legal,(2 days for 600 miles) then Roehl is the place for you.I tried to talk to these people to work things out,and they should be sued for giving me colon cancer from all the smoke they are blowing up my rear end LOL,I talk and nothing changes A summary of my weekly routine for the last three weeks:
Monday-unload in the early a.m.,sit till Tuesday no load
Tuesday-Finally get preplan at noon
Wednesday-A day of driving anywhere from 500-600 miles
Thursday-Deliver in the a.m. or early after noon, because Roehl can't do math or trip planning, sit and wait sit and wait, finally deadhead to Marshfield or whereever
Friday-run a buncha short loads to get to long loads for the weekend ( their idea of long is 1000 miles for 3 days)Get used to moving around mt reefers and vans,I had 3 of them in one day.
And then the fun starts all over in an identical pattern the next week yeah.....
So if this appeals to you call recruiting immediately,I have been driving for 14 years and they made no effort to keep me there so via condios.

P.S. tried to switch to vans and they told me it would look bad on me if i switched fleets.

You should cool down, dude. You really are in no position to judge. Once you get out here for awhile, then maybe you will have earned the right to put your .02 in. You should be more concerned with getting on the Big Road, not trolling. The Roehl posts on here are about 50/50 good and bad. It's a decent company, but they have their issues. It doesn't work out for some people, and those are unfortunate situations. If what Traveler says is true, 20k mile in three months is definetly low. Worry about absorbing information, not pointing fingers.

One company has trucks all less then 3 years old, and all come with a refrigerator.? and thats a plus.. I rate it high because they are also not charging there new students anymore then Roehl for training.. Not one of those fricken CDL mills.. very good pay when you go out with trainers too.!
Weeks one and two - First 14 days of training = $500.00 per week
Week 3 - Days 15 through 21 = $550.00
Week 4 - Days 21 through 28 = $600.00
Week 5 - Days 29 through 35 = $650.00
Weeks 6 and up - Days 36 and up = $700.00

Now thats cool if you want or need a few more weeks of training, and at that pay it would be a plus to just hang out and learn from an expert driver.

I have got to reply, I have been with Roehl for a little over 10 months now. Everytime it is time for me to go home it is a fight. Now as far as sitting that is someting I don't have to worry about. Being on the honor program and given a salary they make sure I run. I will agree as I have first hand seen mileage base payed drivers sitting quite abit while honor guys aren't. Basic economics, Roehl has given veterans a salary and if they are sitting Roehl is losing money. Does this make it fair? No way. I get preplans all the time that can't be run legally and I have to reject them. It as if the planners have no clue. I have learned that the national guys are lowest on the totem pole in their eyes. If you have a National and a hometime driver that live in the same city and have the same home day they will always give the load to the hometime driver because he slips seats and make the national driver be late for hometime. Roehl has changed just in the 10 months I have been with them. I have been thru several DSR's and they keep getting worst. Just my 2cents

I don't know, man. They don't run me as hard. I see some HP drivers say the same thing as you, and then others that run like me. It's like we are working for two different companies. I don't have to fight to get home, and I live in Florida. Maybe I just keep getting lucky.

I think alot has to do with our DSR. Yesterday I was in Ellenwood and was just talking with the office staff and one of them told me that the DSR can influence your mileage. My last Dsr seemed to get me quite abit more miles over 3000 a week but my newest one gets me around 2500-2800. I also get more loads with her but less total miles. A perfect example of what seems to be happening is what happened this last time out. I p/up a load in Arkansas and am told to relay it 120 miles to W Memphis. I get there drop and stay the night. In the morning I get a preplan that has me p/up the same load and relay it to Dayton..WTF. That is horrible planning. I have always been a proponent of Roehl but I have to admit the last couple months have been getting on my nerves.

Yeah, DSRs can really make or break you it seems. I guess I have been really lucky thus far. I get decent miles, I'd say I've been sitting right around 10k a month. I have only had a few issues here and there, and they've all been fixed. I've done that dumb relay thing. I dropped, picked up and unloaded another load, then was sent back for the load I just dropped. I've been doing a lot of rescues this time out too.
