I just applied to Roehl today and had applied to Schneider National about two weeks ago.Would you guys say(in your opinion)ones better than the other? I've considered Schneider for a long time, but I hear Roehl gives you better home time opportunities.I know you can't decide for me,but anything useful would be...well...useful.

Mmmmm-Hmmmmm I've applied to Schneider too.I hear they are good too and I'm considering them also;especially after reading Jasontruckers thread that spread over his entire training period.Pretty fascinating stuff.

I have talked to Roehl, Schneider, and CFI/Conway and am trying to decide between the three. I am in southeastern Kansas. Relocating to the Kansas City area is a possibility if it would mean more home time. Any comments or opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have driven for Roehl for four months in their 7/4-7/3 hometime+ fleet. I get good guaranteed hometime with enough days to run good miles. I like having three full days and then four full days at home. I also like the predicable schedule, I know ahead of time when I am supposed to be home. My experience is that they are legal to the point of being anal about it. They won't hesitate to reschedule or relay a load to keep you legal. There are no perfect companies and I can't speak to other companies. I also can't tell you about other divisions and fleets withing Roehl, I do know that this is a situation I can live with.

| Just a heads up, if you're looking at Schneider in the Dallas area.....I was told today by our recruiter that there will be no new hires of inexperienced drivers until possibly the 1st of the year. We finally got ready to make the big change and we're a week late.

If hometime is important, look more at the 7/4 7/3 with Roehl, Schneider offered only national near here. SW Lower MI

roehl opportunities for home time are just that.OPPORTUNITIES esp if your national van, they will get you home if you beg and plead enough, but if theres nothing going that way, forget anytime soon, the 7/3 7/4 program usually will get you home, seems that program has a better priority for the simple fact you share a trk and the next driver needs to get out you need to get home, bottom line they keep it moving, you may miss by a day or two, but usually can count on the general area desired of hometime, but by no means a exact date

There was another poster somewhere on this site that did say that the national takes 2nd place to the 7/4 7/3 hometime plus fleets when it comes time to getting the driver home. I've yet to decide (as I am scheduled to orientation on Oct 6th) the Midwest Regional Van or the 7/4 7/3 flatbed..
