This Thread is great. It actually explains my situation quite well. but I would like to ask a few questions. Once you finish your paid training do you get to choose which program you want to join? I mean as far as van/flatbed and the type of home time program that they have. Also Im from Eastern Pennsylvania so will I be able to be home often and still make a respectable pay check?

I live in a small midwestern town (1200 people). I would not trade it for any amount of money to live in a large city like Wheeling, IL. We all watch out for each other, help when a family is in crisis, can walk our streets at night without fear, and enjoy the quiet. We do not have any stoplights...no need. I am a college graduate and so are many others here. The successful businesses in town have been here for decades and are run by owners who do not have college at all.
My point is...you are angry at something and if you feel that trucking is done by ingnorant back roads people...does that mean you feel that way about yourself? I mean you are driving a truck for Roehl!

The fleet must be avalible from where your home is located at and for hometime fleets you must be 150 miles or less from a terminal.

So are you saying everyone that drives for Roehl is a idiot? You sound angry as though you were personally attacked by the post and then you turn and due the same. I lived that small town life you described in Georgia and found it rather odd. Everyone in everyones business, you only got jobs if you knew someone and if you were a outsider forget it. Lack of culture and understanding of the world around them and racist as all hell. I am glad I left I now live in a city of 200000 in Texas and we all have pride in our city. Life ain't always greener and small town are not always better.

At 120,000 miles they completely forgive the debt and starting at 60,000 miles they begin to reduce the debt.

This is a free country, I can express myself on the walls of restrooms and internet forums. And really I had not said anything bad about Roehl (yet)
So far we are in the good section of review.

My contract specifies that my training debt is forgiven after I drove for Roehl for 60.000 paid miles. I do not know where from you got 120K? Did they changed rules since last year, mine is for sure 60K got it on the paper.
