Find a guy named PCDOCTOR. HE went through Orientation at CHarlotte and could answer any of your questions.

I work on the JCP account out of Atlanta, Ga. I did my orientation in Atlanta 2 years ago. They do some light physical tests the first day, and check your heart-rate after each little test. If your heart-rate is too high, they send you home immediatley. The rest of the week is normal paperwork and a couple written tests. Just pay attention and it should be a breeze. The Penneys work isn't hard at all. Most everything on the trailer, you pull of with a pallet jack. Then, the hanging clothes you hand to the Pennys employee to put on a rack. We usually have two stops per trailer, that take about 45 minutes each to unload. I worked one Saturday last year, and that was the one right after Thanksgiving. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask me.

JUNIOR10, I took my Orientation at the Charlotte terminal in August and I can tell you that the terminal is dated but their cafeteria is decent; free WiFi; showers are clean; and there's a free laundry room (you buy the soap).
The training staff is great and overall I had a good experience. I did ask to change road instructors during my Orientation week, and was reassigned without hesitation. The classroom instructor (can't recall his name) runs at a quick pace, but if you simply give him your full attention and follow his instructions EXACTLY you'll do just fine. Everyone there is committed to see you succeed with Schneider.
All of the students in my class were complaining about the poor accommodations. I had a friend who was familiar with the hotel and forewarned me so I stayed somewhere else on my own dime. If you have a laptop, bring it. Whether at the terminal, hotel, or other local WiFi spot you can log into Schneider Crossroads and knock out some of the training videos that you're required to watch. These are to be done mainly on your own time although you will watch a couple during regular classroom hours.
Despite what Schneider says in their pre-Orientation paperwork, don't buy work boots/shoes before Orientation. Schneider will provide them and only charge you $25, which comes out of your first check. Good boots too. They also provide you with a Motor Carrier's Road Atlas, albeit a 2009 version.
Any other questions, send me a PM. Good luck! -
Hey ill be there that week also. Doing the regional deal. What is the name the hotel they put us up in?

I still have all my pre-Orientation paperwork from SNI and the hotel was the Days Inn located at 1408 W. Sugar Creek Road. The complaints were that the rooms weren't cleaned on a daily basis, the continental breakfast was pathetic and the conference room that the SNI students would often use so they could spread out and work on their assignments together wasn't air-conditioned or the A/C didn't work so it got too hot to work in for any length of time. Apparently, there was either no desk in the room or it was too small to work on.
We had one student who had a room to himself and was surprised when he walked in his room after Orientation class mid-week and someone he had never met had moved into the room. Apparently, it was a SNI driver having to stay overnight while the OC's shop worked on his tractor. The OC didn't bother to warn the student who was just down the hall in class that he was going to have an unexpected roommate when he went back to the hotel.
One of the instructors told me that SNI is only paying $26 per room per night. Obviously, they're getting what they paid for. -
Thanks. Just a few more days till I go pumpkin

YEP!!The days in was a great experience.I was given the key to some guys room that was just getting out of the shower.
Between that, the security guard, and just all around nice accomidations made my apooh- --days inn experience memorable.
Don't even get me started on the van rides..45 mins. late, stank of ###.I wonder how may people get shot per week in this lovely area of Charlotte?
I would suggest "packing" if sleeping at this fine establishment, but thats just me.Other than feeling like I was gonna be on an episode of cops this was a fine place
seriously, though you will be sharing a room with complete stranger, and won't know who,or when they will be entering your room. How someone hasnt been shot is beyond me?PCDoctor Thanks this.
