You get $300 after finishing the one week orientation, and $300 a week when you're with your trainer over the road. As for starting pay, it all depends on what division you sign on as. I signed on as a western 11 state solo spot and will start out at $0.28 per mile. I'm half way through orientation at the Fontana, CA terminal right now and so far so good. Very professional company and so far no lies or bait and hook type of shady-ness

I'll be watching this and other Schneider threads closely. Phone interview with them is scheduled for later today with a Jan school start date.

I am a recent grad too....7 day orientation (start Saturdays and end Fridays) then 1-2 weeks on the road with your trainer. You take another road and written test and then you are assigned your truck.

Had my interview today by phone. Needed to complete a form and "sign" it with my mouse. Should get a school start date maybe later today. Classes are to begin in Jan. Should be with a T/E by mid-Feb at latest for my 2-6 wks. Rep says it will all be based on my hours for the 2-6 wks. Maybe a bit of local work, which would be good to get more familiar with loading/unloading.

Time for studying all the driver manual and for the endorsements, TWIC, and passport. Time it's all done, that may hit about $300-400 by itself.

$300 a week and .28cpm after training? Not good. :biggrin_25513: This is a serious question. How does one live off of that kind of wages? Not knocking your job or anything.

During orientation you will take about three multiple choice tests, and a final which is a 50 multiple choice test and a trip planning assignment. The training staff is great and they want you to succeed and pass the tests. Then you have the standard on the road driving test and alley dock which is very similar to the DMV test.

Look at Schneider's website and see what they are hiring for in your area. Some spots require experience and some don't. I was hired straight from a CDL school with no prior experience at the .28$ rate on a regional route. One of the reasons I chose to go with Schneider was how professional and safety conscious they are and how much they actually care for the driver. So far I have not been let down.

Well you have to "cut your teeth" somewhere. While it's not a lot of money, it's about average for what someone straight out of a CDL school with no prior experience will make.
