Last week I got turned around in Portland and had to re-route. in the box to right on gps it said exit I - 5 ramp.. I'm like ok ?? North or South?? I didn't have volume up loud enough to hear the be atch say north, I went south and got all screwed up.. :biggrin_25523: It is a great tool, not perfect, but prefer the gps than trying to stop find a place to park and go buy a city map for the town your in when you have to deliver there, like it use to be.

After my 34hr reset, delivered my load to the customer in Vernon Calif on Tues afternoon. Just before delivering got a call and was ask if wanted take a load to Florida! Are you kidding!!! Yes absolutely! So from there took the empty I had and dropped it at El monte yard (btw pretty nice place not just an drop yard like I thought), From there would also pick up this new load..had to wait a bit for the load to arrive.

Knowing the time of day and being close to holiday .. I knew traffic would be insane anyway... So waited few more hours til early a.m. Got started and trucked across here to Beaumont TX. about 1600 miles and now about 833 miles from my delivery. On schedule and hope to be there late morning or early afternoon on Sunday! This a 2488 mile run.. not to shabby..

wow, must be nice! Being from the east coast I never get sent further west than Texas. Longest runs I ever get are about 1600 miles, Laredo to Detroit.

Just make sure they can get you OUT of Florida LOL.

lol... yeah that is a concern! have pretty good dbl so far so hope he has a plan..:biggrin_25524:

Maybe you have already, but, can try telling them your willing to go outside your region.. Funny thing is when I first met my dbl and we talked about my position.. Told him "I have no problem running outside the 11 western, say.. to Florida or whatever" :yes2557:.

Thought it was odd that no more than 2 weeks later here I am in Florida.. Wow that saying comes to mind ask and you just might receive..( that's my version huh).. Something will come up maybe a load right back to Cali.. huh.. ok maybe not, but wishful thinking doesn't hurt

Thinking maybe this load was for team drivers but they might be short drivers for the holidays.. who knows??

Drove another 595 miles toady that puts me about 238 miles from brooksville FL to deliver to customer.. After that might have to wait til Monday because think most office is out for the weekend.. Will see..

btw.. seen a few SNI trailers parked at truck stops with no tractors, just dropped ther.. wonder if driver bobtails home from there .. didn't know you could do that? Does anyone else know?

They might send you over to Orlando area for P/U. We have a couple of customers over there we drop and hook with.
