There is an OC in Green Bay, it is the training center. I'm there right now. Not as many amenities as other centers I'm told.

    Isn't Reserve, LA an OC?

Sleep apnea is tested based on a couple factors; your BMI and your neck size. If your BMI is too high, then they measure your neck, if your neck is too big, I think 17", then you have to do a sleep study.

Just finished my first week orientation here in Green Bay. If I was a van guy I would have a driver number by now. Tanker drivers have two more days of training before they are hired and then three more days in Gary, IN getting more hazmat gear and being trained on loading and unloading.

New van group started yesterday, one guy failed the physical ability test today. If your pulse goes over a pre-set limit based on your age you are out.

Hey Mickey, when are you starting orientation? Did Marcus decide to go to Schneider?:biggrin_2558:

I started orientation on the 10th. Got my Driver # this past Friday.:biggrin_25525: Markus has finished his first phase of orientation. This was Saturday I believe , he's ALREADY on a load with his TE. Meanwhle, I'm waiting on the phone call from mine. Teresa, the trainee DBL(for lack of a better term) said we may not go out for up to a week. Guess thay are getting backed up with trainees vs TE's. Fine by me to a point. I am still getting training pay which is helpful not what I'm used to. But I'm ready to get after it.

This came directly from the Driver's handbook at https://wcs2.schneider.com/webcente...Handbook/VanTruckload_Intermodal Handbook.pdf on page 37 in Chapter 3. Hope this helps.

    EQUIPMENT MODIFICATION
Drivers will not physically modify in any way the tractor interior or exterior. Unauthorized modifications are detailed in the Driver’s Commitment to Care. Drivers will not modify or tamper with any tractor component. Drivers will not modify or tamper with any wiring in the tractor. SNI allows power inverters plugged into the 12 volt power supply up to a 180 watts. Tractors are checked at each PM for compliance with this policy.

Yeah, I know, but all I use mine for is my computer, electric razor, and cell phone charger anyway. I just felt like looking it up because I am getting bored sitting in Virginia waiting for a load since this morning when I dropped my last load and apparently this area is soft for freight, plus I have to be back in Lithonia around Atlanta Thursday at 1930 for a Sleep study and that limits what loads I can take. Glad I could help.

...not sni, but just on the subject... in my lease i finally had a inverter put and i of course got harrassed with about why i was only puting a 400+ watt in and not a 1500 or 2500. i had the thicker wire in to put a larger one in later if needed. but, all i ran at one time was my dvd player (tv had cig plug), or had my croc pot plugged in while driving (travel one with a sealed lid and strap lol), made awsome food btw.. but i didnt need anything any larger. i just dont see the need for these big screens and what nots... and i literally lived in the truck. i did wish i had a microwave at times, but no room for one, and i hate clutter. not to mention i would have had to wait to get a bigger inverter lol. but i made do with the small stuff. you can live out there without 40" tvs and theatre systems..... stuff that runs a ton of power...

but i dont go against comfort...to each his own.... :)

I drove 18 years and never had a tv or anything. Summer before last my then 6yo son spent the entire.summer on the road with me. I put a tv and his nintendo wii in there for my own sanity. Lol. Since then ive probably used the tv about six times.

lol i hear ya. before this year i didnt have any of that. i had a book or two and the radio. i got so much crap from my students this year because i dont use gps and i dont allow them to use the tv and all. i tell them, "learn to use a map and pick up a phone, if you are driving MY truck, you will be well rested and alert. If you wanna do all that in your own truck, you can in 2 wks, when you are off mine!". the only time i even use my tv now is if im at a dock forever or on a 34. i like my time to be used for laundry, shower, eating and SLEEP lol

For you driver's that have a cpap, schneider will install an inverter i think it's a 140 watt one they payroll deduct it it's about 100.00 or so and it's a sinine (sp) wave inverter, which i was told produces cleaner power and eliminates most fluctuations in surge. It's supposed to protect the electronics in the cpap.

I don't see a point. When I was with Butler, I bought a 2000 Watt inverter and Butler installed it for me. They double fused it and all. I'm thinking this is one of the things that sni does to enslave the drivers. OTR drivers should be able to live in there their truck comfortably.
