I was told there were cameras in the corner of the qcom that could watch the drivers...any truth to that?

Time to come on over to the greener side LOL

 

Took a 34 hour restart at home on Wednesday, delivered my load in Grandview WA yesterday and got a preassignment for a 10:00 appointment for live load today. Drove 180 miles yesterday. Got to my 10:00 live load appointment at 09:45 and found out that the load is a work in and I had to drive down to the truck stop and wait until they call me when there ready for me... Sucky start!

 

If they really did do something like that I'd see there being somewhere near a 100% failure rate of those cameras. I also don't think they really want to see most of their drivers getting dressed or some of the other things they may do within the confines of their cab.

I know that I would never stand for having a camera pointing into the cab of my truck while I was in there. If they even thought of doing that I would simply cover it up. If they had a problem I would quit before letting it go.

I can understand GPS tracking and E-Logs and all that to keep track of their equipment and drivers. But recording audio or images inside the space where I'm living is going too far. They wouldn't want me to put a camera in their bedroom while they were sleeping. I can't see any way that would ever be allowed. If they did find a way to make it happen I don't foresee them being in business much longer as I don't think most people are going to allow themselves to be recorded or watched 24/7.

No, there are no microphones or cameras in the Qualcomms. There never have been.

That sucks, hopefully they get to you quickly and then get you moving after that.

 

The way those cameras SUPPOSEDLY work at other companies is if you have a critical event trigger on the qualcom (hard brake, etc), the camera will begin recording your physical reaction. That's what they are allegedly supposed to function as, but do you really trust to have a camera shoved up your ### intruding on your living quarters? I'll probably end up leasing next year so whatever but still, maybe they should hire less morons that crash and rollover.

 

On another note, any updates on the idle requirement changes? if it's the case then like someone mentioned, it sucks that the problem idlers have to ruin it for people that idle only out of necessity.

I'm sitting in Laredo all day for the 3rd time in the past week and a half. Last week we were in here watching football and I was talking to a guy. 30 year marine vet, retired and works here to make extra money. Anyways, we're talking about satelite radios and wanted to check out his setup. Go out to his truck and the thing was running. We were both in there watch TV for hours, and he just left it idling the whole time.

I'm like, "you leave your truck idle all the time?" He said yeah, he didn't give a ####, they could fire him if they want, he doesn't care, still has his pension so whatever, and he'll just let it run 24/7. See, funny how they don't just deal with these problem cases instead of penalizing everyone.

Don't really care, just making a point since people on here were complaining about problem idlers and that was an obvious one.

 

Oooooh OK gotcha I know the oc's are filled with those type of idlers as well
