Schneider owner ops...

Mileage your basically a higher paid company driver. They dispatch all your loads for you. Choice you pick your own. What kinda truck you getting?

 

Well Schneider Finance told me to pick any truck from their inventory. So I decided I want a Cascadia Evolution. I currently have a 2012 Cascadia Company Truck, and I've never have had any problems with it, and it's the second Cascadia I've had.

 

Awesome man. I am actually thinking about doing the lease again. I had decided against it but with the way things are currently with my company it can't possibly get worse i wouldn't think. At least if I was broke doing the lease it would be my own #### fault.

 

I'm signed up for the Choice program, but wanted to hear, what's the better program to start off with being a Newbie Owner Operator?

 

Very true, it's like in my case, I work for Werner Enterprises as a Company Driver, and I get .24 CPM + .04 CPM Safety Bonus, and I average between 1600-1800 miles a week, and I've been making it out here 2+ years. But good thing I have ZERO debt.

 

How long have you been driving a truck? If you have less then 3 years driving experience I'd say mileage is probably the better way to start until you get a grasp on how the loads pay, how to control your fuel expenses, how to figure out revenue ti the truck then figure your profit off that etc. etc.

 

you only make .28 cpm? After 2 years? Wow...that's highway robbery man. The very lowest you should be getting is .35 after 2 years. I'd be parking that truck.

 

Yes .28 CPM, with 2+ years driving experience and I've got 235K accident free miles. I'm ready to go for the giant jump being an Owner Operator.

 

That's what I was thinking, go for the Mileage Program first till I get the idea. Even though I'm a fast learner and whatever I put my mind to do, I've always succeeded.

 

That's student pay right there. How you survive on the pay is beyond me. I was making more then that when I started driving 4 years ago for crst. I'm on percentage now with my current company an I average .50 a mile for loaded miles. That's not counting deadhead miles at all.
