Not moving for 34hrs straight... be it at home if you're lucky or on the road. After you run your 70 hrs, you have to take a restart to get you 70 hrs back - to do that you need a 34 hr restart. I'm sitting at walmart now on mine...

Must not be home then lol. Do they try to get you home for them or is that considered your "hometime" oppertunity?

What account are you on that you get $1/min for detention time? I'd gladly to any number of things to get that.

I'm midwest regional, run more like 48 OTR. For detention time I get $15 after two hours, then an additional $15 for each full hour thereof.

As for loaded/mt pay I get paid for all dispatched miles, but some dispatched miles are better than others. Any non-relayed load under 100 miles is an extra .10, under 200 is an extra .04. May not seem like much but it adds up.

While SNI is forced dispatch it tends to work in the drivers favor - if the driver understands that he is there to work and does his job. You keep ops updated on your estimated time of arrivals (etas) and your availability and they'll keep you moving. 90% of the time I have my next load assigned before I'm near my consignee. One of the core ideas at SNI for the operations folks is "What's the next load?". The new computer system is killing ops right now, but like a gall stone, this too shall pass.

Shhh... trying to make SNI look good here. lol

I run 48 OTR, not sure how it works out, but it happend twice now that I had that $1/min, only came out to about 75mins after the allowed load of 60mins but still it was nice to see. Otherwise yea, its the $15/hr.

Maybe its a mixup of workflow, but the old "after two hours" detention is now, after whatever it says the load/unload should be in workflow under remarks/info. Keep an eye on that... I started writing all my times now, for live loads. Drops don't really matter...

No I'm not home... January/Feb is slower with miles and seems that weekend suck even more if you don't get any loads preassigned for the weekend.

I don't mind it though, there's always something to do, thank you internet and netflix (and Lowe's for wi-fi). I like staying out for 2-4 weeks at a time...

Another one of those little things that should have been included in the WF training. That $1/min thing would have been nice for that 11 hrs detention (13 in the dock) from Frito Lay last month. Three days pay for playing video games and taking a nap? Count me in.

maybe its the different board, but as I was told detention pay goes like this. After the first 2 hrs its 15. Then its 3-5 for another 15 and so on. Basically we're getting minmum age to sit . Maxs out at 75 per pu or delivery.

    Yup...

Some of the load/unload times say 30/60 min, but some say 180mins or so... so don't think they'll pay that "after two hours" anymore.

Still learning (4 weeks now) this workflow system. I know its killing the DBL's... a lot more work for them and many more mins on the phone now. I had to upgrade my phone plan.

I've gone OTR on my own accord just for the occasional run with more miles. But even so from the start I have been told I can have weekly home time (usually just the 34 reset but if I want to take sat & sunday off and go out Monday that is ok too) , bi/weekly (out 2 weeks home 2 days, out two weeks home three days, rinse repeat) or I could go out for 4 weeks and have 5 days off. However I love and miss my wife to much to be gone a month at a shot LoL. And 5 moinths later they have lived up to their word on getting me home when I want to. Granted sometimes things happen and it's a day or two before or after than requested but they try. I've not used my "guarantee" home time days because they have been good about my home time. Just make sure you put in your request macro like your supposed to. Anyway, good luck, welcome to the industry and hope you love it like I do.
P.S. As for flatbed, after being in Chicago last night and the sky decides it's the perfect time to rain down that icy slushy not quite snow not quite rain stuff I actually thought about all those drivers who have to be out in it securing loads, strapping em down, etc..and they do it in even worse temps and conditions. Yeah, no thank you but I respect the ones who do.
I am just south of Nashville and they have a dedicated run advertised for the counties around me. I can't get a job and am thinking about going to a school. Will SNI talk with you before you go to school about what you might could get? My driving record is clean, I have no police record, also a veteran. It is good to see they get you home, I was worried about that.
