Hey female driver, I have some questions.
-How many started orientation, and how many finished? What were the reasons for some not making it?
-You were a student driver, right? How long did orientation last for you? How long did you spend on the road with a trainer? Total days you spent from day one to going solo?
-When did you start receiving pay?
Congrats on finishing up, and best of luck to you.

I can answer some of those questions. In the group I was with for orientation, I was the only one to pass everything 100% the first time thru, hence going out on my own after 3 Weeks. Schneider will not throw you out if you fail one part of the orientation, they'll give you several tries but that'll make your orientation longer. In our group, I did see one guy sent home for not speaking English well enough. As to the fate of everyone else, I'm unsure since I passed everything the first time around, but they are not there to fail you. They'll give you every opportunity to pass and help you with your issues. You spent one week out on the road, but recieved some obstacle course roadtime everyday while in training. You are paid through out the process, if I remeber right, the first paycheck came after about two Weeks.

We started with 12 in our class. The first one left the first day due to, what he said was, medical card issues. Two more left - one asked to leave and the other was asked to leave. Word is that he took out a bunch of orange barrels on the freeway. Then one more asked to leave and a few more weren't picked up by their driver trainer on a timely basis and ended up having to have another week of orientation because of it. So the last week, there was 6 of us left.
But as for people making it, I think that if you make it to going out on the road with a driver, they're going to pass you. I didn't feel the bar was set to high for us. There were definitely people who were struggling that, honestly, should not have passed, yet passed.
I was out with my TE (driver trainer) for 5 days. Monday- Friday. Many, though, were out from Sat/Sun to Sat/Sun. It all depends on what kind of schedule your TE is on.
I started orientation in Green Bay on May 1st, and I'm now currently, today, awaiting my truck to be solo. The truck they are getting me into is still in the shop, awaiting for Schneider's approval for a windshield replacement, so hopefully it'll be ready for me tomorrow.
Training is 3 weeks. You go home for a couple days, and then get a truck assignment. For me, I had to rent a car and drive 350 miles to pick up mine.
As far as pay, the first check comes in via U.S. Postal Service because the automatic deposit paperwork won't go through in time. But after that, the checks come in via automatic deposit every week after that. Also, you'll be set up with a ComData card before you go out with your TE that you can pull $210 from as a pay day advance, I believe.
