most times when you go to orientation, you need to be at the motel by sunday to check in.
on monday morning, you darned well had not miss any bus to the company.
usually that first day, you have a boat-load of paper work to fill out. usually too are the DOT physicals and the pre-employment drug and maybe alcohol testing.
mind your "P's and Q's" when at the motel, you never know who is watching and ratting you out.
if a bunch of you "chip in" to buy a pizza for dinner, at the motel, make sure NO BEER is ordered as well.
the next day or so can be watching videos, road testing, etc, etc.
this is the way it was for me, at another place, but i am almost certain that the rules haven't changed too much.
no matter what, do not drink ANY alcohol at the motel, or at any bar near the motel. anything can and will happen, making you a fast ride back home, all because "you were there" when it happened.....

I'm scheduled for Coraopolis on 08-09.
I writing this from the notes I took when I talked to the recruiter on Friday.
Recruiter in Wis told me orientation starts on Thursdays.
24 days @ $80.00 per day.
The 24 days is class time, yard time and time with a driver trainer.
After the 24 days, they send you home for 3 days off then you report to your OC for a truck of your own.
Rooms are double occupancy, they try to match you as closely as possible ie., non smokers not with smokers.
They provide breakfast and lunch.
After training .30 cpm then at 6 months .32 cpm. AVG 2700 miles per week.
Quarterly performance bonuses.
Travel by bus to Pittsburgh, get a cab to the motel. Give the cab company a code and the ride is charged to Schneider.
If you drive yourself, Schneider will reimburse gas.

We had one guy who had blood pressure issues go home til he gets it under control. They are investing in you, they don't want to send anyone home. This was 1 out of 7

A lot of things from the past can come up.
I just got called from the recruiter this morning.
I have to hunt down an accident report from 2008. Schneider safety dept has some questions about it.
The recruiter called it a rear end collision and questioned my speed.
It was not a rear end, I hit the other vehicle in the side of the P/U bed and the trooper estimated I was under the speed limit.
I described all this on the application.
My MVR shows no points or charges for the wreck, (which totaled my truck exactly 1 month after paying it off!!!).
I was not at fault or charged, someone made a left turn across my path and I was unable to stop in time to avoid hitting them.
The other driver was charged with an unsafe move and his insurance company paid all the bills.
I stated all the facts on the Schneider application but now have to provide the accident report.
Hopefully this won't delay my trip to Coraopolis.
