Just wondering how common it is to run 3000 miles a week as a regional driver. I've decided to go with Schneider. Just seems like a better company. I live in central AR, so I guess I would be based out of the West Memphis OC. Looking to run Southeast regional, if possible. Does anyone run this area? Any input would be appreciated.

Depends on how well you trip plan, what freights like in the area, your dbl, etc. I'm on western regional but I'll take loads going out of the region as well. Last couple months I've been doing 3000+ miles per week.

Thanks for the info. So, if I understand correctly, you can take longer out of region loads even though you're a regional driver?

If you volunteer to go out of region, just be aware not always easy to get back home. Sometimes...

Greetings, folks. This is just a short note to let the world know, I suppose, that I will soon be a member of the pumpkin team around Dec. 17, if all goes well on the required background, MVR,
and other investigations. Initially, I'll be joining the NE Regional, out of Carlisle, PA. Hope to see the other pumpkins out on the road soon. Be safe.

Just talked to a regional guy last night who is out of W Memphis running regional. He said he's been averaging around 3000 miles a week for sometime now. Makes me wanna think about switching from my Walmart account to regional.

I am technically Western 11 Regional, but am currently sitting in the West Memphis OC. I volunteered to run out of the region, and here I am.

I have been averaging 2800-3000 miles a week while in the W11, we'll see how the 48 treat me.

If you are regional and home weekly, do you get to take your truck home, or do you have to park an OC and slip seat?

You always park at an OC. No one that I know of takes a truck home. Slipseating depends on the account you work and what your work schedule is like. I have my own truck, but I stay out three weeks at a time and then take 3 days off.

    DADof3 Thanks this.

I work regional, 5/2 out of Obetz. I don't slip seat, but I do park at the OC.

I don't get anywhere near 3000 miles, but the majority of my loads are short haul. I average 1800 to 2200 a week, but with the pay structure, I make more than I did when I was OTR staying out 3-4 weeks at a time and running 3000 miles a week. And now I am home every weekend and a couple nights a week.

DADof3 and razor ripper Thank this.
