I'm about to hit the road with my training engineer. Schneider is a very good company. They are very big on safety and following all the rules. The training is long, thorough and tough. They throw alot at you at one time but it will be worth it in the end. Be prepared, know how to shift, pre-trip, post trip, and the rules of the road. This will give you a head start. Contact me in two weeks and I'll let you know how road training went and the final exam.

I been with SNI since Oct ,fresh outta school. So far they are a decent company. Plan on long days for training, but I met some good folks there. As far as driving they expect you to able to safely opperate a truck, they dont expect you to be a pro when you show up. Some in my class really werent very good at it. The instructors put extra time into them. They will show you how to do things their way, which isnt bad just takes a little practice. I would recommend em to someone thinkin bout em. Theyve been square with me.

from what i read thats what it sounded like. im gonna be headed to school in mid february and from what ive heard about the instructors at that school is they are really good and will make sure i know what im doing and comfortable doing it. and everything i have read about sni is great and thats why i am choosing that route rather than somewhere else, they sound great to work with. im really excited to join the team. any training hints that will be helpful?

The best advice I can give is, dont act like you know it all and have a better way. There were a few of those guys in my class and you could see it rubbed the instructors the wrong way. The better attitude you have, the better your experience will be. Good luck to you!

thanks. ive definitely learned that keeping an open mind and not acting like you know it all when starting something new usually works better. thats how my job is now gotta keep and open mind or i set myself up for failure.

There is always going to be one or two or a handful of those guys. I have 6 years experience driving 10 years ago. I start orientation on Tuesday and i'm going into it with the mindset that i've never driven a truck before. I know nothing and am there to learn it their way!

im sure there are. unfortunately thats just the way it is, those people are in every aspect of everything. ive realized there is always something to learn and one can never know everything. when i get my orientation date set ill do the same thing, go in with the same mindset you do, and learn it their way.

I'm headed down to Charlotte, NC tomorrow, I start my training on Tuesday. I will probably make a thread and keep it updated with how things go as I move through the process.
