"I want to make this work, I really do. So, maybe this load that is taking me down south on a nice long run will give me a new outlook on how things have gone so far."

Do your year at SNI then come over to Superior Carriers. You won't put up with all the BS you have mentioned. Can't idle in 20 degree weather??? WTF?

Man, I feel for you. Sounds like you've got one hell of a black cloud following you. I'm going on my 3rd week with Schneider and everything has been smooth sailing. I like to drive at night. Less traffic. Only complaint I have about night driving is that's when they shut down the freeways for work. Keep your head up. Newbies always get the #### loads. Put in your time. Don't whine and cry and you should slowly move up the ranks!

There are good days and bad days. Best thing to do is try not to get too upset at the situations and just take them in stride. Try to stay positive because your first year in the industry is tough. With perseverence you will come out on the other end with good experience that you can use to apply at other carriers.

    Best of luck.

Going on their student training program if all works out. They pay for the school up front, you have to work for them for a year to "pay it back" so to speak. Or if you pay up front they'll reimburse you up to I think $6,000 of the tuition. There's about 3 options I can do, One go under the student training program, two, get a loan and go to the same school and have Schneider reimburse, or three go to a local community college program under a student loan, and have Schneider reimburse. The community collage isn't cheap, but a little better program. Will be at the OC on Monday so I can talk to the recruiter and see which is best route as far as how we're both concerned.

Or 4th option, take the job as a management trainee for a big box hardware company, pays all of not much and I"ll have to move most likely. Stead work I know, but I"m not really fond of working retail at all.

I know they do tuition reimbursement, just filled out the paperwork for that myself... I did not know they would pay upfront for a private school for someone to attend, that is new to me...

Go to schneiderjobs.com, search driving opportunities -> Illinois -> St Clair. I think it may depend on the hiring area and demand for drivers. Apparently in this area there's a big demand.

Well I finally got routed back to the OC and got in yesterday evening, spent the night there in my truck, unfortunately my truck is gonna take a while before they can start working on it, so I had to relay my nice load to Mississippi, but hopefully when I head back down on Monday my truck will be in much better shape and that'll get me off on a good start this time around. I drove back home this morning and will be here until I head back on Monday morning, its nice to have a little break at home, but to be honest I'm anxious to get back out on the road and hopefully see things start to really work out!

What do you have for a tractor / SNI is selling off a pile of their older units.
