I don't know if any of the companies will hire you with less than 2 years OTR but to be honest with you I haven't paid much attention to that detail in over 15 years.

I can tell you that I have hauled almost everything under the sun and I can tell you right now if you like driving and you handling freight and waist in your time securing and strapping down loads tankers are the best!

I do it and I made over 65k last year and I didn't even break a sweat.

If you have no clue, why are you responding?

Yes SNI puts rookies in tankers.

In the Houston area, some drivers get home daily. Some weekly..some longer. Depending what they want to do. Not sure about Chitown. I don't think its much different. But consider the longer you stay out, the more miles you will get. Don't base your miles on what van drivers make because you will spend more time on average loading and especially unloading...

I can't tell you anything about SNI but I do know that Superior Carriers will hire school grads depending on what school they went to. You would be a perfect candidate for our Markham IL terminal. You will have a better trucking experience with Superior Carriers. Give them a call. Hard to say what others are averaging mileage per week is but mine is usually 2000-2500 at .46cpm loaded and .38cpm empty. I typically take home $800-1000 per week unless I take more than two days off in a week.

I average 2300 to 2500 a week. I go home four days every 3 Weeks out. I am OTR, drive a new truck and enjoy my job. I have posted about Schneider many times, just look up my posts.

Schneider hires and trains new drivers for tank. They pay terrible but it is a way to break into the industry and get tank training for newbies.

He asked about ROOKIE pay at Schneider. New drivers aren't getting anything close to that. In fact, they're going to be paid a substandard wage at twenty-something cents per mile.

Started at .33, and .40 after 6 mos. plus load/unload pay. Miles that ethos said are about where I'm at.

O/P: home time is 14 days out/3off, or 21 out/6 off for OTR. I don't know what regional is.
