Looks like IL40 to Sterling, then IL26 to Freeport, then IL20 to I90/94 to either 20 or 6 toward Napoleon. I know 20 will beat me to death; what's 6 like?

I've got to pick up an empty, then go get live loaded, before I can head toward OH.

Timewise it's almost a horse apiece which way you go. I-90, to I-290, to I-294, to I-80/94. Then you get your choice of US 6 all the way over, US 20 to I-69, to US 6, or US 30 to Ft Wayne, I-69/469, then US 24. US 6 is the shortest, US 20 is the fastest, US 30 has the most places to stop.

Me, myself and I would run via US 30, 10-15 extra miles vs US 6, same number of stop lights but fewer turns and two lane roads. Once you're past Ft. Wayne it's interstate quality road all the way to Napoleon.

US30 sounds like a plan, as long as Jill is still on vacation!

Going to sleep now - drive safe!

I couldn't sleep and came across your thread and it brought a big smile and a chuckle or two that I needed!!! Not at your misfortune Mause but at the "don't drop those injectors again..." And holy cow "ice cleats"!!! Too funny! Keep up the good spirits!!!
I train for my company and "finish" students in the Northeast and I had a former trainee call me today. I had to recommend termination for him 2 weeks ago. He just couldn't get his skills and confidence up to safe and proficient levels. It really broke my heart to do it but it is my job as a trainer to make that recommendation. It really weighed on my heart because he was trying his absolute best. He understood then why and agreed with my assessment, but this call today was heartbreaking! I needed a good lighthearted laugh! So thank y'all! Ive never met anyone driving the Orange that I disliked talking to out on the road or on this site. (Unless your the one in the hammer lane because my company limits our trucks at 68mph!)

Hope the truck woes are behind you soon and no more series of unfortunate events. All the best!

    Lonesome and mickimause Thank this.

Speaking of feeling blue...didn't make it 15 miles before she dropped 2 more injectors. Why they didn't replace all 6 to start with is beyond me, but they get to replace 4 & 5 this time. I am back at the shop, the tech who did the first 2 is going to try to get it in today.

So, it looks like I'm not going to OH this weekend after all. Hoping that if I hang out in the reception area, they'll feel sorry for me and get'er done!

At least they have WiFi... :biggrin_255:

Yeah. I'm struggling not to be frustrated.

Good news is, it's in the shop now, and they're making a call to see if they can just replace the four that they didn't replace yesterday rather than just the two that are bad today...I don't want to have to do this again Monday...

Update at noon, CST: I'm here until Monday afternoon at least. Got authorization to change the 4 remaining injectors, but they only have 3 in stock. The last one won't be here until Monday morning at the earliest, depending on weather.

Struggling, still, and not only with frustration. Anger, disappointment, and disgust, too. And boredom. Let's not forget boredom! There's nothing but fast food within walking distance of the hotels/shop, and I can only read, peruse threads on here, and fool around on Facebook for so long before I go stir crazy! I don't know anyone in this part of the country, either. Maybe they won't put me back in the same hotel, and this one will have a pool or hot tub to while away some time in.

Sorry for whining...I'll be better soon :)
