I am about 45 minutes south of York pa in Md. I drove for Schneider last year and left, got frustrated with the over the road miles as a solo kept getting little hops here and there. I have driven team for a short time before and prefer not sitting in truck stops I just want to keep moving. The amount per mile for solo and team on this run is a big difference. And I am sure there will be team loads in between the plant in York pa and the assembly locations I don't remember all but this takes up 7 or 8 states. our plan is to live off of my check and bank my wife's check for the next 3 or 4 yrs if this works out. We have been talking about this run for the last 2 weeks. I spent a short time over the road with Prime and Schneider and it's just too hard to be gone for 3 weeks at a time this will get me home weekly " according to them" but if means going for a few days more for the bucks so be it. My motivation is $$$. Its hard to get a hold of the recruiters, Schneider started sending me info through the mail and email weeks ago on this run . Do you live in the right area for this ?

There really pushing teams. I have another friend that is looking at the kc operation this what he sent me. I deleted her new number but if u want shoot me a pm.
Molly's new # is They are really pushing teams. Pay for solo is .35 1/2-36 1/2 mile and team is 46 1/2- 48 1/2 per mile per person but they sit the miles. So if the team runs 5,000 for the week, each gets paid for 2,500
They are running parts from manufacturing plants to Harley Davidson then u haul the racks parts back to the manufacturer.
Sounds like it's pretty fast paced service ie JIT style loads.

    mickimause Thanks this.

I talked briefly with Molly today; she did ask about teaming. I'm not sure that's for me, but at 46 1/2 to 48 1/2 cpm, it's a thought. Being a brand new driver, though, I'm not sure I'll get the opportunity. Besides, I don't live where they want you to live, but I figured I'd get nothing by not asking!

What are JIT style loads? Remember, I'm really new at this, and still learning the language! :)

    Thanks for the info!

Jit just in time. Basically the plant needs that product fast or the line shuts down. Yeah they are pushing teams big time. Reading the pay and how fast paced it's going to b. I'll skip it for now.

I was told 50 cpm plus quarterly bonus and yes you split the miles but not the pay and home weekly ( what ever that means). I have a phone interview on Monday so I will find out more then. I hope the trucks are better than last time they tried to stick me in a piece of S*** last time , cracked windshield, bottles on the floor that I assumed contained urine, trashed, it was really bad. They gave me something a little better. I hated it when I would shut the truck off at night and the lights only lasted a few minutes and then they would shut down to conserve battery power. I have a CP machine so that was a nightmare until they gave me a car battery in a bag with alligator clips to run it after after a week of ########. I had a DBL that kept sending me on little 150-300 mile hops even though I was an OTR driver, I stayed 2 months and quit. I still have an uneasy feeling about Schneider since the last time and I am still on the fence about this. Been driving locally, Mon - Fri 7am to 3pm really easy job , great people to work for but not much pay this should double that. I Hope !!! I'm wondering about the off season and what will we be hauling during the slow time of the year. I was told there is an assigned dispatcher for this that will only be handling the HD account not sure if that's true yet I take everything said with a grain of salt. My wife wants me to stay home but she is leaving it up to me we have been together for 31 yrs and still in love with each other our kids are grown and we are expecting our 6th grand child. My daughters are having it tough so I want to help them out financially as well. If anyone who is currently driving team with Schneider could give me the lowdown I would really appreciate it. Thanks

Dedicated runs differently than OTR/Regional. You will have an account DBL/APM(area planning manager). Same person regardless or between a couple depending on how many drivers on the account. Dedicated Support shift is great too. Little to no wait times on hold and quickly resolve your problems. Being a new account for us I would expect HD had requirements on equipment used to haul their trailers. So its reasonable to assume a new or at least newer truck is to be had. Teams get the cream of the crop anyway.
Been on 2 different accounts now, and I dont think I'd do anything else unless it was dedicated. For me its been consistent checks/miles. I'd be hopeful about this account. May be some bugs to work out to start but dedicated is where its at.
