I Experimented this time around. I ran on my recap, just to see how I book loads. I did very well considering the hours I had to run. I usually take a restart when I get down on my hours. I was taking loads that I normally would not take. Running on recaps take you where the money is, not much of a choice running on recaps. lol Still satisfied with the Choice program.

I've come close to taking one of those Columbus to Napoleon loads before, but never did. Did it work out pretty good?

$1.63/mile average is not that great..about average if you are leased to a GOOD company,,Freight in and around the mid-atlantic region and short hauls under 750 miles generally pays better,, if you logged all your actual time,,loading ,unloading plus driving your truck only made $78/hour if you logged 60 hours and if you logged 70 it was only made about $67/hr... you did have to run your butt off to do it. Your truck should average at least $85/hr.
Every load you have at least 2 hours involved in loading and unloading,,the places you ran it would be difficult at average 55mph driving,,you are making a living forsure but I hope that you are putting enough away for tires and future maintenance and money to replace your truck one day,,Last edited: Sep 22, 2014
