You don't need to fully start the engine. Once the QC loads up, just turn the key to the on position and you should have 90 minutes until it shuts down. Unless your battery is down, in which case you're not using your apu properly - I will be along shortly to take possession of it.

Mine will time out shortly afterwards when just "key-on-ing" it, and I know my batteries aren't the problem, that APU has been running non-stop for the past 28 hours keeping me nice and cool with AC so no reason the batteries would be low. One trick I have is to load up navigo - it seems when you interact with the qualcomm, such as loading navigo, etc,. it will stay on longer than just a normal wake-up. -

the mary trucker said: ↑That ticking thing happens to our QC just about evey time it times out. We have to unplug it every night. Some guy in maint in Fontana gave us a thing to "update" but that was just for the maps. We have to unplug it and then pylug it back in anytime it happens. Getting very old. See DFO could be worse.Click to expand...

dieselfuelonly said: ↑Oh man I had one in my company truck that did that. If it was just in a light sleep, like it does during the day, it wasn't a problem, but if the truck was off for 3-4 hours, it would do that same thing. POP POP POP POP POP POP POP through the truck speakers for about 6 minutes, then a minute of nothing, then it would FINALLY boot up. I made it a little better by disabling it through the truck speakers and making it "pop" through its own internal speaker which wasn't as loud. Eventually I got used to it but it took me a good 2 weeks to.Click to expand...
It's the starter relay but no quick fix and I don't think ours stops after 6 min but I may just not be able to listen that long. I really get in edge when it happens. We just unplug it for the night because it will start in the middle of the night and that really irritates me. However taking the sound out of the speakers is a great idea. Thanks -

Boy do i like elogs!!!! 4 copies til I got it right. Office is in central time zone. park and work in eastern.
then I get it checked in to change out the backup battery like IT support submitted the work order for but they changed out the whole thing. First thing the Head Mech says is hey can we borrow your truck for a training cycle? Thought he was joking being April 1 .Some kind of green house gas training or something. It required a 2014. So I agree because they are always good to me in Obetz. In a condo 2013 loaner for 2 days. Its clean.Click to expand...
I unhooked the power cord from the box and the clicking stopped. I waited 15 seconds and plugged it back in and my QC worked again. -
