Lease Operators Truck Specs and Pics !

SFI requires you to lease under your own personal name (or at least they told me personally I had to). You can add a DBA to your EIN filing if you'd like, but it's not required. Since I'm doing all of my tax stuff under my own personal name, the company name is just something I wanted to do, part of my dream of being a business owner. I'll definitely register the company name and all that, but several experts I talked to told me that getting a LLC or incorporating doesn't offer any benefits tax wise unless you're taking home (netting) $100,000 or more per year, and that having a LLC or corporation DOES NOT protect against lawsuits against your personal assets, no matter how much people try to tell you it does.

Mine is a 3 year lease. And contrary to what some might try to tell you, you're not locked in to running with Schneider only. I plan to stay here because I like it, but I can take the truck anywhere I want at any time I choose.

I'm sure it probably is. They buy these trucks in bulk from Freightliner, and simply don't change the engine computer programming for the IC trucks. To be 100% honest, I don't know a lot about speccing trucks in general and what all it involves. But I know I'm happy with how it runs and I'm getting great fuel mileage for the speed I run, so I don't see any need to change anything.

Hey, laugh all you want, my SFI rep told me that a couple weeks ago LOL. She said if I decided to switch carriers to let them know and they'd get the process started, although she said truck payments will still be due while I'm in the process of switching

If you become an IC with Schneider can you get an automatic? I know pretty much all of our company trucks are 10 speeds.

 

The only automatics they offer (I was told) are the Volvos. I think they require a down payment on those though.
