I am currently doing orientation Portland, Or. I'm on day 3, just took the driving test. All went ok, we are now eating our 3rd day of Subway sandwhich's... they even give you a cookie and chip with it, then there's pop and water from the fridge downstairs.

in reply toTennman, yes its a 2012 Cascadia... no Evo.

    TennMan Thanks this.

Na, I spent the day dealing with pc issues. The tech lady blamed it on my pc... 4 hours later they admitted it was on their end and ended up fixing it. I got tire and went home... looking for something tomorrow. Looked in my bank account and its looking grim, guess I'll have to skip easter dinner with the fam.

All over the place...Im still learning. Booked my first load from St. Paul Oregon to Costco in Central Wa. Then a lower paying one down to by LA. I'm going to see how things look at that point and move on to bigger and better things.... hopefully.

In my experience so far, freight INTO WA/OR/Denver/SLC pays well depending on where it comes from. Freight out of WA/OR/SLC/Denver/Phoenix/and Northern CA pays around $1.00 pm. LA area usually pays low into but good out of. IMO it is much harder to run consistent good paying loads in the western half of the country. Atruckr can chime in here too, he lives close to me in so cal. Again this is just my opinion, but I go east and run and then come back.

    Wheelwell and atruckr Thank this.

This is true.. I am currently running the west now and going to do alright but it is more profitable in my opinion to run out to the midwest/east and back or just stay in east area for awhile. Usually you can find high paying loads in both directions from cali to the east and back. Last week I got lucky and was able to run out of the west with a turn-around load I picked before leaving the west. Ran loads from Cali to IN and back to Utah grossed $5900 but had to over lap our pay period week to do it.

Hi Everyone, thanks for the posts, they are helpful. I'm sitting at a rest area West of Baker City, Or. waiting for 12:30 to roll around so I can get going. The Navigo is routing me down 65 to 95 down to 15 into the LA area. I'm tight on my 70 due to the training time, but the CSR said do it, they'll work with me if there's a problem because there is no one else to take the load. The first one ended up being an easy Live load despite being listed as a DNH but then Costco was great to work with. The second is a load of Egg cartons, weighs in at 6800 lbs.
Booked another from same location to St. Lous after my reset in LA and then I'm going to look after the reset for a load out. Don't have any chains on board yet, so I'm looking to stay south. Sofar the only things I've found are to Colorado, and I don't want to go there. Want to migrate back west.
Trucks running fine, getting about 8mpg so far, and I love it. The new grill really makes it look good, got a compliment on it from the second delivery guy who helped me out.
They didn't have the correct load numbers in there, and the CSR was telling me the office staff was gone and I'd have to sit. Went in and got people to call people and finally the late shift at Schneider told me that they hadn't put the correct number in the dispatch, that they'd had it all along. If I'd just sat there and not talked to people at the plant I'd have been probably sitting til monday.
Everyone at Schneider has been great, nice to know that when you need help there's someone there.
Well, thats it for the update, any ideas or questions, let me know!

    sadwar Thanks this.
