Thanks, I'm trying to present what's happening in an honest light.
I was planning to get home, but things don't seem to be working out that way. I spent the night at a Pilot in Muskogee, which is quite a nice one actually, if not one of the cleanest I've been to. Then got a msg from dispTch that my next load had been pushed back to the 25th. I replied that I'd go to within 10 miles ( about 50 miles away ) and reset there. After a nice smooth unload I did so, only to be greeted with a msg saying the load had been cancelled, and did I want to have the Cali to Washington one pulled off me. So, I had to say yes. Looked around and found a 3400$ load from Ohio to Oregon, but spent the next day on the load board trying to find a connection. No dice. Then I started trying to put together a good week and selected a load to Mississippi, but couldn't find anything decent for after.
with my week being shorter from the reset I needed to find something good to pay the bills. I keep getting low to no settlements and was about to give up when I found a nearby load to Ohio, 1400$ then immediately afterwords a hi paying load from Ohio to Connecticut ending on the right day to get in the next check! Suddenly things are looking better, if it all works as planned it should be a 2100$ net week! Now if I can keep that up, maybe this will all be worth it after all.
Ive been getting disgruntled, with my hazmat and twic card and 14+ Years of driving I could be doing fine sleeping in my own bed. But this is what I want to do,but if it don't pay, it's not worth it. So far Schneider has been excellent to deal with, they are even charging a little to cover fuel to the customer to compensate me for the travel towards the load.
also the trucks running good, and many of the trailers I've been pulling are almost brand new.
theyre also paying us early for the holiday.
have a great July 4th holiday everyone!!!

It's a hard road! I'm have similar experience and I'm used to making $1000 per week home everyday with weekends off, working maybe 50-55 hours. Now I'm working 70, gone for months and I struggle to make $1000 in 7 days. It's taken alot of getting used to. I keep my eye on these I\C threads to see if there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I have been giving alot of thought to getting my own truck, but I'm not sure if I trust Schneider enough to do it with them. If your truck is planned and you are dispatched on that load and it gets canceled, Do you get any compensation? IE, Truck ordered/not Used?

I'm told that if you get to the site and hit arrive on the Qualcomm then find the email saying cancelled load they give you 150$. I had them give me that once, and once I sat all night waiting for a load the shipper hadn't started yet, the night shift couldn't do anything about it. The next day they gave me an identical load that was ready there and 300$ for the trouble. In this last one they paid me the calculated surcharge on the 50 miles I'd driven towards the load and were going to bill it to the shipper.

Wheelwell: Does the West Coast Choice Program allow Washington State residents to sign on with them? Do you know where i can get more information on this program (other than the vague description online?) Maybe a direct contact at Schneider i could speak to? Thanks for sharing this thread. Good stuff!

Yeah, I use it, but so far, not sure if its helping or not. It has a lot of bugs in it, as the guy developed it a long time ago and has apparently done minimal stuff to get things working.
The mapping stuff has pick points all over the map, even multiples of each state, and the plot lines don't line up to the map.

Also the watch new loads thing... not sure if it even works. It crashes regularly with fatal exception errors.

Basically it opens a web browser inside itself and then clicks on buttons... exporting an excel dump into it and parsing it out.

I'm still up in the air on it.

Also, I'm being told by various people that Schneider is upgrading the portal site to vastly improve how it works... which would be nice, as the basic stuff is so basic you can spend hours putting together loads only to have one not be loaded or available (despite the load board saying it is) and having the whole thing fall apart.

I sent them a lot of ideas on the recent IC survey, I hope they are considering things like I sent. Computers can do so much more than they are giving us, and Schneider itself has had
their own systems to string together loads for litterally years. The load board can be powerful but it is limited... and in the face of what modern computers and websites can do, its basically a big joke. Very disspointing.

After working my way out to Ohio right before the 4th of July, I had the load out of Coors to the NE not be sitting there waiting for my drop n hook. The guy said everyone was gone for the weekend and the load wouldn't be loaded til monday. So I found a short load to try to salvage the week. It ended up short, and basically had no money to speak of.
So, then I found a good paying light load to VA. and discovered a coolant leak. Tiny PLASTIC hose to the air compressor. A whole day spent there, and thankfully they pulled it off me without the 400$ relay fee, as I'd already secured the load, signed the papers and hooked it when I discovered it. Those loads are sought after, so it was gone immediately.

So then, after a day of sitting, I found a load out of Lima Oh. to Eugene Oregon. At this point I was so frustrated, I took it despite it being heavy. Probably a mistake.
But I had to get the 1/4 ly schneider inspectiond done, and my truck serviced (first one since getting it) and wanted to see my GF and pick up some mail. The fuel ate the whole profit on the load... after fuel, truck payments, and a single draw, I had 75$ left, and it was delivered on Tuesday, too late to get paid this week.
So, after being at home basically one day (one at the shop doing stuff, one home) I took a load out of Canby Oregon to Yuma, Az.

Its been weeks since I've made anything folks, so bear with me when I say when I checked Sunday for my payroll advance they usually give me, and there was none, I started getting frustrated. Due to some traffic stuff and the security guard pulling the paperwork from a load that had been transloaded off of us that had one number different on the order (his error, not mine) and his searching for my load for 2 hours, I finally got going. They tried to move the load up from a Midnight Delivery to an 1800 delivery but there was no way I was making that, and ended up rolling in at 0300 (3 hours after the original appointment). Its supposed to be a drop n hook, but the security guard says, there's no one to receive it, so you can't drop it. They won't be in til monday.
Our severely understaffed 3rd shift people (after waiting 45 minutes on the phone) told me there was nothing them or Customer service could do. I should call back and talk to first shift in the morning. But
Next day, our CS gets ahold of someone, and they arrange for me to drop the trailer. But I get to the plant and the guard knows nothing of it. So I call my ICA, They call our Customer Service, nothing happens. So I wait in the guards office on hold to our ICA's again, and they answer. I tell them whats going on, and they say, well the guard isn't answering.
I'm like, well he's right here, and the phone isn't ringing. They try again, the phone rings. Our Customer service tells him who to call, and he does, and now I can go in and drop.
No hook as there is no MT's. At this point I've set up a Relay out of Fontana that was supposed to pay good back to Phoenix, so I deadhead over there so I can get some work in before the monday cuttoff time, having lost a day waiting, basically (there WERE good loads out of the region, but not knowing how long I would be sitting, I couldn't take them, and when I knew, it was too late they were gone.)

I asked the ICA's for my full advance, and they began giving me a bunch of flack, you are the most negative settlement in our whole 150 trucks right now, they shouldn't have given you the 75$. I was like, I was 75$ in the positive last week.... told them the whole story... and they were like basically sorry. Your screwed and there is nothing we are willing to do about it.
I was like, I've got a load that I just delivered, and I'm delivering another right now, and they aren't even showing on the Pending items.... I need some money....
    But they were like NO.

So.... I've put together a load of Dixie cup style stuff from Phoenix to Woodburn, Oregon...which was supposed to be (marked as) a drop N Hook, but is in fact a live load, going up to a place that will be a lumper unload.
Then I'm hauling from that area back down to Lebec Ca. with a light load of furniture. Had my eye on another, thought I booked it, but its not showing up on the pre-assigned, so I must have waited on it. Might be good, not sure how good loads out of Woodland, Ca. are for us... I know they are good out of LA.
Estimating that I'll get a whole 100$ this payday after my 75$ draw, but if this next one works out, I'll be back up to about a grand net.
Keeping my fingers crossed, as I'm behind on a lot of stuff, phone bills, car insurance, etc... thanks to all this snafu BS.
At least the loaders here are getting me done as fast as possible.
