search shops that work for each engine. Just in case. What I hear, these new DD's have a better track record with reliability given the new technology. PACCAR comes a close second. Peruse the OO forums or the engine forums for consensus?

    TennMan Thanks this.

I've had several mechanics tell me to run away from the PACCAR engines as fast as I can. Originally I wanted a Kenworth, but both one of the guys with me in orientation who used to be a mechanic along with a driver buddy of mine from my last company both said the newer PACCARs have horrible issues.

This is just what I've heard, I don't have any experience with them personally. But I don't have any complaints about my DD15.

I felt the same..friend of mine has a 2014 KW T660 with a Paccar MX13..seems to be running well.
I know paccar had a lot of problems for awhile but so did cummins(EGR).

With his experience's and maintenance records I've decided to give the paccar MX13 a go.
Fuel mileage seems to be very good with 336 rears and a 13speed.
Plus it's ALOT lighter than the Cummins.

    Just my .02

The only other color they had was platinum and it was ugly with the black side skirts. I was hoping for all one color but oh well and i wasnt getting a two tone truck atleast not those two tones. But you bring up a good point so now you got me wondering lol

I have been driving Freightliner Cascadia's for the last 18 months..decent trucks..quieter than the Columbia's.
They ride pretty good, get good fuel mileage.

But there HAS to be life other than a freightliner..LOL!

Plus Schneider specs them like company trucks,if I'm going to pour a ton of money into something it will be something like I would spec myself.

Don't take this the wrong way..they both get the job done and really that's what counts.

    Peace!
