Miles is how you get paid but remember freight basr is how you get miles. Good luck with whomever you choose. And stay safe.

Its all how the company youre with allows. And also the loads youre on when the wife and i were team drivers we ran 90% of the time 5 am til about 1 am and made it a point to sleep in bunk together atleast a couple hours a night together. But sometes freight dictatrd otherwise.

I have heard above 80 and above 70, anybody know for sure what the outside temp needs to be for the truck to idle. 70 would be great. 80 not so much.

Sounds like Schneider relaxed the idle policy. When i drove for them I could only idle when the temp reached 15 degrees or below to keep the truck running. There were no bunk heaters either. I bought one of those cheap (quality) heating pads from the truck stop. They killed the batteries if you didn't be careful, especially if you had a cooler plugged in too.

I only had two beefs with Schneider back then, the idle policy and we could only drive 57 without digging into the bonus. Other than that, I was treated pretty good.

Folks put down Schneider a lot...to each there own. You have to remember though, when you have thousands of trucks all idling, it gets expensive quick. When you have thousands of trucks, all the bling and chrome and accessories add up to mucho $$$ quick. The purpose of a business it to make $$$ not spend it.

One other thing, about pay. New drivers coming into the arena need to understand you are not going to be paid like an experienced driver. Even myself, not having been on the road for many years, basically have to start over pay wise. Get the job, do your time to get experience, then you will get the better pay. Seems like too many people want to start at the CEO level and they just graduated Kindergarten.

I post basically the exact same thing online and i'm told I should be silenced and told to hang my keys up because I don't have enough experience to have an opinion

    GearWarrant Thanks this.

Nope Jabber, if you are tracking along the lines of what I posted you should be good to go. Keep on truckin'.

I don't like starting at the bottom either, especially when I have had experience. But that is how it works.

Yeah it is for a lot of guys until they get out there and start running with these company's that say they offer that stuff but half the time it just doesn't work out that way! Not sure where your looking but Crete or Gordon might be my next choice.. SNI is good for providing decent pay and have many options..They also have a lot of freight to keep you moving and a lot of good people working here. Best of luck!
