Are you an I/C or a company driver. With Company you'll fuel according to your routing. Every preplan will start out asking you your fuel level. I always try to be full before I load so I can get an accurate scale weight afterward and then I fuel accordingly on my trip. The fuel routes are notoriously inaccurate, IMO and I end up fueling at alot of locations that Arent listed on my routing. I also try to fuel either during my Pretrip, postrip, or my 1/2 break.

I am a I/C

ok, Gotcha. Then I'm not sure. There seemed to be a formula that the other guys used, something to do with payroll, but I'm really not sure

I fuel when convenient, I have dual 120 gallon tanks and tend to take on fuel usually around every 1000 miles, I don't like to let it get low. I'll do 1200 now and then. Depending on where I am running I try to fuel at OCs. Its just easy and usually if I'm at an OC I'm there for my 10, so I can get the fueling done during my 15 minute pretrip and save little bits of my 70 here and there. Other than that I try to use the Pilot/FJ's because we get a little bit of a discount through them. But I fuel at Loves and Hess now and then too. Don't use T/A/Petro much.

I fuel when needed, but if I'm going home I make sure my takes are half fuel.
