This has been my first week out solo.....it has been instructive...so far i've clocked close to 2500 miles...I am personally shocked ..but pleased
Life out here is difficult...for me ..used to a clean personal commode, toilet is the biggest adjustment....but i'm learning that with fuel is showers that have semi private bathrooms....also that rest areas are staffed 24/7 and are very clean...
All in all loving my new life and especially the new friends along the way...
E and K you know who you are!!

    First impressions!!!
initial DBL's need to work on social skills....this is a voluntary job...not servitude!!.....why is it that people that have a minor modicum of control tend to try to maximize it!!! be content serve and work

Carry a can of lysol or baby wipes and take them in with you in a gym bag,

Keep a cool head talking with dispatchers, safety and other company personnel as well as cops and DOT. They all deal with idiots that go off ranting and yelling at them on a daily basis. Being nice pays big dividends and can get a mistake you made turned into a warning and even a learning experience with the law.

Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.

Pickle/mason jar, gatorade bottle for number 1 (just make sure it's big enough to hold the contents of your bladder and don't drop them). Pail and trash bag or plastic shopping bag for number 2 in an emergency.....Just don't dump either in the parking lot please. You can also get small portable toilets too that you can dump at RV dumps found at Flying J and many rest areas. RV toilet chemicals can be bought at Walmart.

You really made me laugh, thanks for your post. My husband went with Schneider and he is in his 2nd week of training. The TE, another dude and my husband are headed south. I am happy we did the amount of research on trucking companies that we did.

The 3 liter bottles of water you can buy at pilot/fj are the best for emergency situations FYI lol
