I think "lazy" and "inconvenienced" are two separate issues. Time spent sitting getting stuff fixed is time not making money. Sounds like the driver just didn't want to take the time getting it fixed

I'm sure the time explaining why a rock went through someone's windshield or the time waiting at a random DOT inspection for road service to come out wouldn't have been inconvenient. JMHO

JMTC but calling out drivers who's names appear on the Qual-Comm for trailer PTI's that show no defects but have one, is reckless . The consignee can easily cause damage as well as a part going bad in the instant you pick it up. Brake cambers, nails causing very slow leaks, swing door damage, lights misappropriated, overhead damage caused by low trees are just a few of the things that might not show up in a trailer Post Trip.

Yes, there always a few bad apples on the tree but finding a more productive way to vent frustration would serve these drivers, making these assumptions, better.

I'd say instead of calling out the drivers let's call out specific trailer numbers so the sni people who are reading these threads will have the number in front of them and maybe just maybe they will get it fixed.

Just send in a mac 12 (or 13) reporting a trailing unit defect with the location code. That message should notify maintenance of the issue.

I've picked up trailers showing a defect that I can't find and the dvir doesn't tell the driver what it is. They need to send the dvir report with the defect listed.

If I find a defect I list it but I only do a post trip walk around not a full pretrip when I drop a trailer

No, I deal with the problem and continue on. Once a driver drops a trailer, darn near anything can happen to it depending on where it was dropped, even being loaded with house garbage or worse.
