Presently, at home for a few days having my truck's air conditioning system replaced, as it went out on the way home while I was dropping at Target in Tifton, GA. Was hoping that would only have to change out the compressor and dryer, but the compressor contaminated the a/c system with metal shavings so having International replace the entire system. This was an expense I was not counting on at the moment, but fortunately had money in my maintenance account to cover it. Always prepare for the worst, and hope for the best.

I go Monday 6/23 for the drug screens (urine and hair) and DOT physical that Schneider is paying for. Still on track to start orientation July 14th in Charlotte, NC.

Well, it is Monday, June 30th...time for an update: Last Monday on June 23rd, I completed my DOT Physical, Urine and Hair Drug Screen.....all with flying colors. Was a little concerned about the possibility of being made to complete a sleep study since I have an 18" neck, but the ARNP said they are suppose to take all factors such as height, weight, throat inspection, and how you answer the questions. So, no sleep study required. Heck, I sleep great.

I gave my 10-day notice to Swift that I will terminating my lease. Also, already talked with Swift Bodyshop manager in Greer, SC to have qualcomm removed and turned ez-pass in, etc.... on July 10th. Then will take a couple of days off before starting orientation on July 14th in Charlotte.

Tomorrow, July 1st, I will pay my 2290 for 2014 - 2015, and e-mail my schedule 1 to my recruiter. And on Thursday, July 3rd, I am having a couple of issues repaired/replaced on my truck, and get an updated DOT Inspection and PM done before going to Schneider.

Thanks to each and everyone of one of you. Have enjoyed reading your comments. Jar-head has some great post on his venture that is very helpful.

Hope everyone had a GREAT 4th of July, and celebrated our country's Independence from Great Britain and it's taxation. Seems we have created our own heavy taxes on the middle class since that independence was won, but that is another story. Try to remember that many fought to gain our independence and enjoy the freedoms that is cherished in this country by many, and that we as citizens need to fight to preserve those privileges less we slip under the yoke of another form of tyranny. May GOD continue to bless our country.

It is July 6th, Sunday, and I am shutdown for a 10-hour break in Jeffersonville, OH at the T/A just off I-71 exit 65. Swift has kept me running even after I gave my 10-day notice. My DM thanked me and I am welcomed back if I should decide to return. On July 4th, I picked up a load at Swift Terminal, Memphis, TN, and had a DOT inspection completed that was due...had Swift fix a few issues and replace all my shocks since 3 were in poor shape. Wanted to get truck back up to par since Schneider will be doing their DOT inspection during orientation. Only a few days left with Swift, but I plan to run a couple of more loads before or by Thursday, and be in Greer, SC on Thursday, July 10th to removed Swift equipment (Qualcom, Prepass, etc.). Figure I will chill out the weekend, do laundry, clean truck, and update my bookkeeping/scanning to get ready to run with Schneider.

Thanks Jarhead. I chose the Navy Aviation side so as not to have to play and sleep in the dirt, and wanted to sail the seven seas. However, I admire anyone that served in the Marines or Army, as it does take more of you physically. Though you have a much higher chance of seeing first-hand upfront action and getting shot at.

On my last run with Swift hauling 44k of 11 rolls of paper from VA to NC. Short run with too much time. Appointment to deliver tomorrow night 7/9 22:00 with no chance of early delivery. This is one reason I am glad to be switching so as not to have to take these loads if better ones are available. Not much choosing at Swift even with their macro 30 of 3 possible loads, as you do not always if ever get 3 load offers.

I sent you a private message earlier today. Disregard the question asking if you had a thread going about your new venture. I just found it! Looking forward to hearing more.
