    INTRODUCTION & DISCLAIMER

    YOU ARE HEREBY INFORMED

That this thread is going to be DIFFERENT . This thread is going to be both a TEACHING & INSTRUCT TOOL and also a JOURNAL of my personal exeriences at SNI on the choice program. I hereby DO NOT claim to be a load board expert nor do I portray to be one . However I have spent many hours on the SNI LOAD BOARD prior to signing on with the company this year and have learned several TIPS & TRICKS to help guide you on your way or help you choose SNI and THE SNI CHOICE PROGRAM as your next destination as becoming a OWNER OPERATOR or moving your truck over such as I did as a SEASONED / EXPERIENCED OPERATOR.

RULES OF ENGAGEMENT ARE SIMPLE .

    1. NO ONE WILL ASK FOR A REFFERAL ON THIS THREAD - nor will it be spoken of nor implied.
    2. BICKERING , FLAMING or EXCITING - WILL NOT BE TOLERATED and the person will be reported to the MODS for doing such.
    3. Feel FREE to add supportive information to this thread as it is INFORMATIONAL BASED and as much GOOD CONTENT the thread can get is welcomed. You can also correct information that has been posted wrong or in error.
    4. ALL are welcome to post on this thread
    5. There will be LIMITED COLOR CHANGES and BOLDS as that was a critique that was noted on the last thread and will be changed on this one . You may see color changes but only if it is IMPORTANT as a vital information source.
    6. This thread WILL contain "LESSONS " these lessons are made to help a person outside making a choice to come to SNI the ability to see first hand what to expect. This may also give them the information to SWAY them to join SNI or become the BREAKING POINT as to why they do not.
    7. This thread is about HELPING OTHERS , it is not strictly a journal of the experiences I take daily. There are several SNI CHOICE THREADS that do that now and have GREAT INFORMATION on them . HOWEVER this thread is different as it is a teaching tool to help inform others.
    8. You will not see a HUGE SIGNATURE ... This was yet another critique I took and removed the Signature.
    9. The "PM-ME" Feature still exists if you have a private question you would like to ask. You WILL-NOT be asked for a refferal .
    10. I am NOT a recruiter I am a driver just like everyone else .
    11. I have never worked for SNI before so I have no " CONNECTIONS" I am a contractor leased to the company just like everyone else.

It is my sincere hope that round number 2 of this will come off better than round 1 did.

KEEP IN MIND THOUGH ... This thread is not your typical thread about ...

    • I live loaded for 4 hours I am mad
    • I drove 503 miles today
    • I fueled at Flying J
    • My load paid me 1.57 a mile and I backed it up with one paying 1.78.
    • My truck broke down and my warranty is out

Not that those are bad things to talk about it is just not the focus of this thread. If you want that information it can be found on the numerous SNI CHOICE threads on TTR on this forum . THIS THREAD IS JUST DIFFERENT ... It is INOVATIVE , OUTSIDE THE LINES and BREAKS THE MOLD. In short its CHANGE and change is DIFFERENT.

EVERYONE has the right to JOURNAL the way HE or SHE wants as long as it is within the guidelines of the forum as set forth. There is nothing wrong to having a different way to doing things .

THIS THREAD IS ABOUT INFORMATION , it is about TEACHING , INSTRUCTION , and a JOURNAL LAST.

I am just a LEADER its who I am and I choose to LEAD . By that I mean I am fine with being different and breaking the molds that defies the logic of a normal informational based thread. It is the MARINE in me and it is just who I am. I like to LEAD, OVERCOME OPPOSITION, & STAY ON TASK.

Again I hope you find this thread informative and it meets or exceeds you expectations ...

Lastly and I WILL NOT harp on this ... There is nothing wrong with the PM-ME feature I put into place . On the last thread I was able to help aprox 15 drivers. Not just about SNI but other topics such as TRUCKS, FUELING , TRIP PLANNING , E LOGS , TAXES, LLC or INC , TIRE ROLLING RESIT, FUEL MILEAGE , you name it we talked about it ... YOU WILL NEVER BE ASKED FOR A REFFERAL.

Thanks for reading hope you subscribe

Here is a topic that maybe you could go over Jar Head as I haven't seen it discussed on here before -

Is it better to fuel where fuel is the cheapest, regardless of the state, or is it important to spread your fueling out over the states you will be traveling in? After all fuel taxes, etc., come into the equation, which way will be cheapest?

LOL What LEAD you to go to Schneider?? Just the desire to help them LEAD the decline in driver pay and lifestyle they have been at the forefront of for so many yrs. If you are happy there that is wonderful. But facts are facts and they have peed down all drivers throats for a long time now.

I have a interesting question. What state is the best states to live for Trucking to make better money. My own research shows Texas or Tennessee. I am from Ohio but have the option of moving anywhere when I separate from the Marines. I'd like to think long term as far as good local jobs should(when) I move to being home nightly. The one thing Ohio has going for them is Cardinal Logistics who drivers go home every night if you live in columbus. I also know Schneider has these too depending on where you live.

Good lanes out of ohio and am told there is good freight. Dunno what the rates are to and from though. See a O/O pull in nearly every morning or is already there and shut down when I'm reporting to the truck..

i will respond to this because it was asked similar to me in a PM on the other thread .

I joined Schneider as a Owner Operator and not a Company Driver . It seems your frustration stems from that on the company side of things . I will say that this thread is about IC Choice Program and not the company aspects of SNI .

The Owner Operator side of SNI is a totally different department and then the CHOICE PROGRAM is yet another department in which you choose what you want to do and how you want to do it within the companies guidelines .

I choose SNI over another similar company ( Landstar ) because of the simplicity of the operation and the way they conduct business with their IC's

Secondly on the company side you have DBL's which are in a business model of TELLING DRIVERS WHAT TO DO . And that I think is where some get a bad taste because it is basically a baby sitter which is geared more towards new drivers . The ratio to DBL to drivers is 50/1 . But it's glorified baby sitting .

Choice drivers get a ICA / ICR with a ratio of 150 / 1 . Reason is it's less structured for baby sitting and more geared to the driver whom is ready to be a owner operator and be more independent . Less talking and more action so to speak .

Not sure about being on the cutting edge of pay cuts - again that is a company topic for company drivers . CHOICE drivers are on % pay this we pick our own wage based on our own criteria and revenue needs .

This is may not answer your question fully but the best I can do by not knowing about the company driver aspect of SNI
