Actually won't do any thing for def. That ship is corrosive as all hell. It eats wires n plumbing like it's at a buffet.

no he doesn't use DEF but it actually sounds like the DPF is where the problem is. DEF is stored in a tank on board the vehicle, and injected into the exhaust stream by a metering system. The DPF uses fuel to super heat a catalyst filter that basically catches ash from the burning of sulfur and oil that is in fuel. He says he had a box plugging up and that's basically what a DPF is, DEF has nothing to do with that

Correctomundo, I saw the whole box assembly that was taken out of a swift truck. Tech explained how it all works, great guy. Box sits under passenger door, big monstrosity. The evolution from dpf to def was explained and shown to me, they had a dpf filter taken out of another truck, that's what dfo has. Big difference in the dpf filter assy and the def box assy! We'll see what happens.... It's all a journey....

The head of IC maintenance called me three times yesterday working with me on my truck problems. He got with the Schneider engineers and they suggested I take the truck to Carlisle to get worked on. Evidently the Carlisle shop is performing the latest troubleshooting tests and analysis from Freightliner that many of the dealers aren't even doing yet. So I'm going to route myself down there sometime soon and get them to hook me up, hopefully.
Planning on going back out Sunday afternoon with an easy run. Then a great paying load on Monday so I can get some money on this week's settlement. Who knows from there......
    Happy Fourth everybody.

On the road again..... Made it 58 miles from my house before the truck threw lights and codes again, 5 days of sitting since it was at freightliner. Grabbed a load in Pittston going down to York. Here now waiting for my live unload to finish then I am heading to Carlisle to turn my truck in to maintenance. Talked to them on the phone earlier, hopefully they can tell me what's wrong or maybe even fix the problem.
    Fingers crossed......

After my 5 1/2 unload caught three hours of sleep and came into Carlisle. Turned truck in to maintenance. They assured me they will figure out the problem today... We'll see. Hanging inside the oc .
