I'm looking for 'reviews' of some of the trucks you guys are using in the Schneider IC Choice (Owner/Operator) program. Are you leasing? Do you own? What kind of deal did you get on your truck? How many miles were on it when you bought it? What are the specs? Any major/expensive repairs since buying it? Where did you buy it?
If you were to pay cash for a truck, $30,000 +/-, what year/make/model/specs of USED truck would you recommend for the Schneider IC Choice program?
Thank you in advance for your feedback
Schneider O/O IC Choice - What year/make/model truck are you driving? Lease/Own?

I think this has the potential to be an amazing and informative thread. If posters focus on what they think based on their experiences rather than discuss others experiences, I would very much like to see this thread explode. Since Schneider is, at this time, the company I am most leaning toward (a large part based on this program) I too am very interested. There is a lot of information scattered about, but if Schneider O/O's and L/P's would be willing to condense some of that here I know it would be very helpful and useful for those of us researching.

I am a L/P on the bulk side. I picked it up brand new in Houston with 38 miles on it. Currently, 2 months later I have 25k miles on my '15 Freightliner Cascadia Evo. Now I would not say I got a "deal" on it, but I still make money. I haven't had major problems. I have had the On Guard repaired one and seem to have developed a small power steering leak.

2015 Evo been a good truck got it thru SFI and like it for what it is the on guard stinks but hey it is what it ain't. Had mine for about 3 month's and have about 26k on it.... I run % not mileage so I try and run as little as possible for as much as possible. It's a company spec'd truck thats not governed so nothing fancy. I would bank the 30 k and lease a truck for a year and get a good understanding of the freight lanes and system and then decide on buying out right or keep leasing.
