If it came down to choice of truck vs better pay and conditions, I'd take the better pay and buy a Twin XL mattress which will fit perfectly in a Freightliner.

Of course there isn't much that can be done about urine stained interiors from spilled pee bottles.

Exactly the reason why it's so frustrating sometimes here. They give brand new drivers brand new Cascadias and they destroy them in months. There's at least 2 or 3 of them sitting around the Gary yard. Just ridiculous really.

I had my current Columbia all of last year before I had to take medical leave. They pulled the tractor from me and when I returned I played musical trucks for a couple months (had to go back on leave again for a few weeks). Then they gave me the same tractor again. However, in the 3 months I was out of that truck, the driver they assigned it to proceeded to completely destroy the bat wing on the driver side and now I get to look like the moron that doesn't know how to drive because Schneider won't fix that.

I could complain about my equipment assignment but I really don't. I have carefully mentioned a couple times I'm unhappy with the equipment I'm assigned, but nothing has changed. However, in reality it doesn't really matter what equipment I'm assigned with winter upcoming. That's the time when I'll have to choose if I want to run my CPAP and freeze, or run the bunk heater and have the low voltage cutoff kick in after 4 hours of sleep.

You didnt state what the age and condition(mileage etc) the truck you are in now.
you havent yet asked for a newer truck? And you have a better than decent working relationship with your DBL?
    So ask.
What is the worst that can happen? You stay in the same older equipment you are in now.

If you are on time, give no grief, etc then chances are better than even you can get into a newer if not new truck. If it has been rode hard, the shop will do a basic clean and put a new mattress in or request compensation to clean it to your standards yourself. They have paid that before.

You have to get a different mattress. The ones they give you are the worst LOL. I just put a $25 foam topper on it from target and it does a good enough job. Investing in a $200-$300 mattress is a good idea if you aren't able to settle for the topper. Sleeping on the mattress they provide us with is pretty much an impossibility.

Your screen name looks like something fudged together after finding out "disgruntled driver" was already taken. I won't be the only one that will think that.

Good luck finding a comfortable truck at SNI.

The horror..how can you possibly do your job in a older truck that isn't up to your specs?

Suck it up cupcake..run hard and wait for recognition it will come in time.
Instant gratification seems to be what makes the world go round these days.

I only drive from 930 am to 1025 am then I take my unionized 1 hour break I then start driving again at 1215 til 1229 then I get my unionized 2 hour lunch (where we go to the bar for the appetizer's) I then get back in the truck and clock out so I can enjoy my afternoon uninterrupted.
