Yep fuel city rocks. That little place a mile or so west of the Houston OC was good too. That's why I have no problem with immigration,, a taco joint on every street corner ? .. Beats the heck outta papa johns, McD's and all that garbage :-D

I've read all the post here and while I agree for the most part the one thing that I haven't heard anybody talk about is the fact that those 28 stop lights will wreck your average speed per hour even though in between them you can go 75 miles per hour.
That said 90 miles is a hard pill to swallow, I'm a i c, I run a Schneider lease truck for Coal City cob tanker and that 12 gallons to get there at about the same time is not a good use of your money

I am on this route as we speak sitting in Lufkin Texas. This is how it's done .i30 in Texarkana to i49s to Shreveport la. In Shreveport take i20 west to i79 South. Once u get to Carthage get on the 315west to the 259 south which will take you back the 59s. look on Google maps and you'll see it's not as complicated as it sounds and there are hardly any stop lights or stop signs at all. A few of the roads are one Lane in both directions but the speed limit is 70. I have taken the 59 south from Texarkana To Houston maybe 30 times but after trying it this way I find it 100% better.

News flash, there is no fastest.

I used to hop off at Hope hit the LA line and sneak onto I 20 behind the scales in Texas and work my way down on 59 takes 10 hours give or take.

It really does not matter how you do it its still going to take you a day to get to Houston, especially from W Memphis.

Just keep memorizing the turning sequence when you find the Nagodoches river bridge, there is several turns you have to follow carefully to stay in route.

No..it's smarter to take a interstate than stop and start through towns...
