Wise sages, which is the fastest route from West Memphis to Houston?
Option 1: I-40 west to Little Rock, then I-30 to Texarkana, then 59 south to Houston.
562 miles. Shortest in miles by about 90 miles, but there is always construction on I-40, and a buttload of traffic lights and small towns on 59 down to Houston.
Option 2: I-55 south to Hammond, LA, then I-10 west to Houston.
656 miles. I would need to average 57 mph to make it in 11 hours. Smooth sailing on the interstate? Or not?

I'd go the "short" way.
Just remember to do a checkup on hope see if a quick detour is needed. -

"75"?
75 what? -

Schneider, remember? 60 is all she's got. I'm a rolling speed bump.
Everyone says the short way. So it is. -
59 is a good road, you'll be fine. -
When you first get off i30 in Texarkana it's kind of slow with stop lights for a little while. At that point you'll wonder what a mistake it was to go that way lol. Then it opens up. There's a few slower towns here and there and a few turns/off ramps you need to get off of, but it's way better than going so far out of route on i55

40 to 30 to 59 no doubt about it. That's the only way this ol wore out cow hauler would consider.
