See you're busy Softail. My son and I got in 3800 miles in four days before they got us home for a five day break. Learned a ton while out there but know there is a bunch more to learn. Our truck is a 2014 Cascadia Evolution with 125K miles on it. Nice truck but we have added amenities to make it comfortable for three week runs. We parked the truck at an approved parking area close to the house. I think Rich is parking his at a truck stop. Our closest drop yard is an hour and a half away. Either way as long as Schneider approves it and the truck won't get towed away then there not too concerned where you park. Headed out Tuesday....I'll keep you posted

That's a nice truck Warhippy. That's some nice miles. Glad your able to park near home. I got '11 with 482K. Runs nice. Pretty decent. How's Q doing?.

Rich Quirk is in Fontana getting his truck fixed. Seems to be doing well but like us he has figured out that if he uses the ETA sheet he shows up way too early and has to sit. For Chris and I we have figured that average 50MPH, add one hour for every 12 of travel. Example is 600 miles equals 13 hours. The sheet has it at 17 hours but we consistently can do it in 12-13. I'm also keeping a spreadsheet of all the runs with miles and time it takes.
One issue I'm not sure about is for some reason the settlement sheets are 2 cpm less than what our pay was agreed upon. Not sure if thats the per diem or what but will definitely have to find out. Other than that all is well. Keep trucking and see ya out there.

Yes, the 2 cpm is withheld by SNI for 'administering' the per diem.

That's the first I've heard of an administration fee. 2 cpm amounts to a $620,000 a week savings for them. That's why they are penny pinching. That ain't right. No way would I sign a piece of paper agreeing to that. They are your employer and payroll is part of their job.knuckledragger and mickimause Thank this. -
Schneider pinches every penny they can. It's smart business and even though I don't agree can't say I wouldn't do the same. Every penny counts. We did a run from Kansas City to Pueblo, CO and they took us on every backroad in Kansas you could think of (hwy 50 and hwy 96) just to save money on mileage and toll road. In the end they probably used more fuel because we went through little dinky towns all night long.
As far as the per diem we were told that for the first three months we couldn't change it. Not too concerned just checking the settlement statement and noticed a discrepancy.mickimause and CondoCruiser Thank this. -

Left Sparks NV to McCarren NV for a 487 mile run to Grantsville UT. Now I am headed to Bear River City UT to a 3 stop drop in CO. It starts with Parker, Castle Rock and ends in Colorado Springs for a 719 mile run. I'll be pushing my 70 by the 29th when this run ends.
