Left Colorado Springs for Fort Collins and head back to SLC. My drop in CO were Parker to Castle Rock and finished in Colorado Springs. When I got to Castle Rock, discovered Parker took off 4 to many pallets. Called DBL to see if I had to go back or was on them. He called CS. Yep, you guessed it. I had to go back and get the other pallets. Took about 2 hours to get it all straightened out. Made me late for my last delivery by 1.5 hours. The snafu at least was not my fault.

My 1st week went pretty good. Everything got there on time (except today). Got 2949 miles in. Got my reset in yesterday. Stayed at the Pilot right off I 70 and Airport Blvd. The place was jammed packed. Only 1 washing machine worked out of 4. Not many happy campers. T/S food is CRAP. I packed food, so I didn't have to T/S food, but I broke down. Never again. Learned my lesson.

How many days did you drive to accumulate 2949 miles?
You did your 'reset' (34 hours) at a Truck stop? Can you unhook the trailer and use the truck for personal use? Or do you have to stay camped out in the parking lot this whole time? Is there pay for being tied to the truck and not being able to go anywhere?
Is the starting pay per mile .29 cents?
Was there any other pay included for this week?

If you were to take the total amount you grossed for the week and divide it by the amount of hours you put into it, what would be your hourly wage?

Hope you don't mind me asking these questions. Just trying to get educated.

    Thanks for your help!

    I'll answer some of these.

You did your 'reset' (34 hours) at a Truck stop? Can you unhook the trailer and use the truck for personal use?

    No, the truck cannot move.

Is there pay for being tied to the truck and not being able to go anywhere?

No, no extra pay for taking a 34 away from home.

Every other answer depends on him....

I will say if you're looking for Hourly compensation then go Local because even though you can figure out the " hourly" rate it's useless it will only disappoint you.

It took 8 days to get those miles. I just hung out at the T/S on my reset. Interesting characters at T/S. I went for some 1-2 mile walks couple times a day to break up any boredom. The area was not bad.

The pay will be spread over 2 pay periods, since I did not start till Wednesday. I will be adding more miles the rest of this week onto those miles after last Saturday.

The starting pay is .29 CPM. You get a .01 after 6 months and than .02 after 1 year. Plus any Safety or Performance bonus for each quarter that you may receive.

Softail, I think we were in the same final week class, but I am not sure who you are. I am Tim, the "engineer". I sat in front near the door. Just finished my first week, and got nowhere near 3K. Really less than 2K. Got to figure out how to manage my hours. If you have some insight, please PM me. My first load was hazmat to Vegas. Surprise.

Delivered the load to Denver. Got another load, you guessed it. Back to SLC. With 1 stop. 566 miles. This would make a great dedicated route for someone. I'm not complaining. Nice miles. I enjoy it.

My goal for the last 5 days has been to pass 2 vehicles every day driving across Wyoming, So far I have not accomplished my goal yet. On Wednesday, I did pass 1 vehicle. It was a 1970 something Toyota with the RV attached instead of the bed. Man, I blow by that at 60 like it was standing still. I don't count the vehicles coming off the on ramps than I would be up to 6.

You could always count the vehicles going in the opposite direction in order to reach your daily goal......LOL
