After researching and reading just about every thread I could on TTR for almost a year, I decided to drink some Orange koolaid.
I would like to give a big THANK YOU to each and everyone of the drivers on here. Without your input, my decision could not have been made easier. Your insight and daily updates let me and several others from my class see what is really like on the road on daily basis with Schneider. The good, the bad, and the ugly. I was able to make a very informed decision based on my needs and wants and what works for me through the threads that were posted here. What works for me, may not work for the next guy.
I just completed my 18 day orientation last Thursday (7/17) in Fontana. Boy, do they give you a lot of information. Yes, you have to pay attention. Class started with 18 in it and finished with 10.
Classroom and Driver Instructors were very good at what they did. It was all about Safety. My week with my TE was very good. The TE was extremely knowledgable and had great patience with me. I learned a great deal with him.
I was was able to make some new friends from my class, and that made orientation even better. We were able to help each other with classroom studies and that made a difference if someone struggling with a nightly assignment.
I will get my truck one day this week and will hit the road in my pumpkin mobile.
I have to give a real Big THANK YOU to Sadwar. He provided me with additional information and advice. Thanks again!!
Keep up the good work. Really enjoy all the threads here. Time to go get some more koolaid and continue reading your adventures.

Good luck! Above all, take your time and be patient. Schneider has been great with me so far, a lot of independence, plenty of miles, and a great truck.

SNI pays $80.00 a day for all training days. The only that is not paid for is the first day, which consists of the Pre Work Screen (PWS). Some people fail this. If you fail, they send you home. That' why it is not paid. It' s not tough. If you are completely out of shape and overweight, you may have a problem. Mostly, it is lifting weights and having your pulse checked.
The hotel is picked up by SNI. You will stay at the Ontario Airport Best Western. 5 minutes from the airport. Nice place to stay. They feed you lunch. Breakfast is free from the hotel. Bus picks you up at 05:25AM on the dot everyday. Dinner is on you. The hotel will shuttle you back and forth from SNI , if needed at the top of each hour. Just call. SNI Class start at 06:00AM. You will train for 18 straight days for the most part.
TE is the Training Engineer. The person that takes you out in the truck for a week. It is not a team training. You will drive at least 80% of the time, if not close to 100% of the time. The TE will be in the right seat at all times, except when they are coaching on backing.
I returned for some home time, that's why I am waiting for my truck. I believe, if you have to wait for a truck out of Fontana, they still pay for hotel and the $80.00 a day. All meals will be on you.Grijon, Samdaman, knuckledragger and 4 others Thank this. -
