Explain to me how it is not a drug???

It technically is a plant, but the compounds in the plant technically could be considered drugs. Nothing is a "drug" unless the FDA says it is. Marinol is the "legal" form of the drug because some pharmaceutical company produces it in a laboratory. But if some "lab" that doesn't put government agents on it's payroll produce it, it's considered "illegal"

Don't you get a high off of it like other drugs?

Of course you do, can't speak for any hard core drugs cause I've never tried them, but I do know alcohol has nearly killed a friend of mine, while another acquaintance I know pops all sorts of "legal" pills "illegally" as well as snorts heroin. He's probably going to die within the next couple years. Probably won't know though because I stopped talking to him.

Doesn't it make you do stupid #### like other drugs???

Depends on the person, but as far as my past experience goes it raises your inhibitions and therefore, you do less stupid ####.

Don't people steal to get it???

LOL, they aren't crack heads, but I'm sure some halfwits have done this before.

Don't people lace it with #### and people die from it???

This is basically a tall tale. If anything, if you get stuff that wasn't handled properly and has something like pesticide on it, or if it's old and getting moldy, then you can get sick.

In all seriousness because I have not ever smoked it show me relevant evidence from a reputable doctor not some Colorado pot head with a medical license and I could possibly be persuaded to change my opinion. And Wikipedia is not a credible source.

--- Well, recreationally speaking, there really is no need to do it. However, I believe we should have a right to do what we want within reason. It's not unreasonable to use MJ recreationally IMO. Obviously in my situation being in a safety sensitive job it's completely out of the question. But in the future I wouldn't rule it out if I get out of the industry. As far as medical use goes, I won't start quoting doctors or anything, but if you do a simple search you'll find that there is no reason to deny people that are in pain access to something that may work for them. Everyone is different and reacts differently to different things. What may work for one person might not work for the next.

And in regards to drugs such as meth, coke, heroin, all sorts of pills and the such, I hate that ####. One of the things I hate the most is all of the anti-depressant/anti-psychotic drugs that these doctors put people on with emotional problems. One of my exes was put on a ####tail of like 8 or 9 different bi-polar, anti depressants, mood altering drugs, etc etc. She ended up OD'ing. So yeah, there are drugs that are horrible.

Lacing it with stuff isn't a tall tale. Ask my cousins.

Well then, more the reason to legalize and regulate it then LOL If the underground black market is offering coat hangers for abortions of course there is an increased risk of medical issues.

I was given vicadin and muscle relaxers in college for a pulled muscle. I took them once and it knocked me on my ### and I didn't know who I was. Keep in mind I was 325 pounds at the time. I use Aleve for pain and don't even like doing that, but I have a high threshold of pain.

My uncle died from Legionaires disease. He inhaled pot smoke out of a bong that had stale water in it. Contaminated with those spores. 61 and he died from taking a bong hit. I use to believe in legalizing it but after losing family to it I can't believe it anymore. I used to be against the death penalty until my cousin was murdered several years back.

As a former L.E I can tell you that pot is laced by dealers who want their clients to " try the new" version of it then once someone does try and likes it they are then sold they lace such as PCP, Cocaine, Heroin as well as other chemicals. If any one decides to do drugs I believe it's your choice as long as you don't endanger other's but I do believe if you can't MAN up and say you took a drug and aren't willing to pay the price of doing it then I sure as hell don't think you should ever drive a Truck. I'm on these roads as is my FAMILY and I have no problem telling any one on drugs they have no business in this Profession and I feel the same for Alcohol if you can't wait to have a drink on your off time ( not your 10 hour break ).

If a company hires me and drug tests me then send me for DOT physical. Are they basically drug testing me twice?

If someone smokes weed on their own time that doesn't mean they drive while under the influence. Seems most of you anti drug people on here seem to think if someone smokes weed a week ago then that means they are high all the time.

How are they drug testing you twice? A drug test isn't part of a DOT physical.

Who said people MUST drive under the influence just because they smoke weed? What "anti drug" people said that people are always high? The FACT is that you can not legally smoke weed while holding a CDL, or at all in most states. You know that going into the process of getting a CDL, you know that when you get hired as an employee. People that either can't give it up or feel the need to make foolish excuses to do something that they know is illegal should consider other careers. Whether it SHOULD be legal or not, is a completely different conversation. You can't simply follow the laws you agree with. The people that do, deserve whatever they get and hopefully it only affects them and not others.

    MCribbs and TennMan Thank this.
