I will be heading to Brownsville in the AM to just drop a loaded trailer at the border, short run but it is 353 miles to add to the 3100 I already have for this week!
Time4Change and pumpkindriving Thank this. -

So after Brownsville drop I Bobtailed back to Houston on Sunday and picked up a loaded trailer to take it 23miles to Crosby! LUL Monday morning which started my 14 took the MT back to Houston. Had to pick up an MT and goto Stolt in Houston for a LLD(5 hrs!) got a late start out of town for Tallulah, LA. Tuesday made it to the LUL in Tallulah, LA and then I deadheaded the MT to Reserve, LA. Sat the rest of Tuesday and most of Wednesday before they have me take an MT 500miles to Atlanta, GA! Now sitting in Atlanta OC on my 10hr break.

I got a load out of Atlanta to Deer Park(Houston) Tx, all was going great until I got to Lake Charles, LA at about 0100, had to stop at a truck stop I pulled in to a mess! Trucks parked everywhere, double/triple parked in all the no parking zones and some in the fuel isle! As I was trying to turn through to the fuel isle I miss judged where my trailer was(took my eyes off the mirror to see if I was clear in front) and bam! I clipped a van of a guy sleeping in the fuel isle! Didn't do much to his van(hit on the corner and woke him up) but ripped a big chunk out of the side of my trailers insulation/side sheeting and the dirty hose rack!(No leaks thank GOD!) First accident in my life and it has to be 4months into my new carreer! Atleast no one was injured and it wasn't out on the Hwy! My first DBL said 'now your a real trucker!' and 90% of all accidents happen in a truck stop.
WingNut72 and pumpkindriving Thank this. -
Sitting in Houston OC, heading to Iowa in the morning, then Chicago.

Hey harly, just read your whole thread. Sorry about the mishap. Really have enjoyed your write ups. I'm a rookie scheduled for orientation for Eastern OTR Van. But now I think I'll ask to be changed to OTR Tanker out of Houston. Will need to come up with a local address, as I'm in South Florida. I hope they will do it. Tanker sounds way better. On the 6 days off per month, can you take them consecutively or do you have to break them up?
Look forward to hearing more. Keep em coming!
